Definitely worth the try.
My son plays football and has ankle and feet problems that we are currently going through different treatment methods with his orthopedic doctor. We have tried other ankle braces for him to use during football. But these seem to help the most. They are hard in the beginning to put on the cleat and strap up to wear. After a few times of taking them off and on you will figure them out and because easier. The brace will need cleats with shoelaces in order to install the brace on the cleat.

Works nicely to keep a shoe on, but mine arrived used and missing a lace.
This item arrived used and missing the shoelace to tie up the top.I work in special education and bought it to use for a student who has a bad habit of kicking their shoe off. This prevents them from doing that and works as well as I could expect.I got my own lace to replace the one that was missing because I didn't want to go through the return process. The unit is sturdy and has a bunch of straps for the ankle that keep it sturdy and prevent a person from kicking off their shoe with their opposite foot.I wish the bottom was made of a more durable material because it is already starting to wear. I understand that on a grass field this would probably not be the case and since I'm not exactly using the brace as intended I'm not letting the wear affect my rating.I just wish it had arrived new and with the lace. It arrived with a couple scrapes on the side of the ankle and no lace.If the bottom wears out we will probably sew something new on because it works that well. We were having to put the shoe on the student up to 20 times a day and now we don't have to because this brace prevents that from happening.

Quality of Construction lacking
Bought this for my son after rehabilitation on a high ankle sprain. Design looked solid and the reviews led me to believe in it's potential. I received the item and looked at the manufacturer's videos on instructions for use and fitting. Sadly this product did not make it through the initial fitting process without breaking. The high ankle strap that is placed and secured by pulling through the plastic D-ring separated from the Velcro piece that lashes it to the opposite side. There is only a single line/row of stitching through the Velcro strap and even that stitching holds just over a 1/4" of the strap in place. This seems to be a design defect in my opinion. I sent the first unit back thinking it could have just been a manufacturing defect and received a new unit in its place. Careful inspection of the new brace showed the design flaw with only a single line of stitching on the strap. Frustrated, but wanting to use an "over the shoe" design for the comfort aspect, I took the brace to a local shoe repair shop where they were able to sandwich two 3/4" nylon pieces over the section that holds the strap to the opposite side and add heavy duty stitching to hold it in place. Now there is no chance of this strap coming undone or tearing away as in the original construction. Aside from this flaw the overall design and use of the product has been good. It is used on low top leather cleats as well as a mid-top sock design Nike Magista Obra cleat. Fitment was good, support is very good. Design flaw needs to be addressed by Battle to improve this product in the next generation.

Great product but will only fit on low cut cleats.
Good quality and support BUT will only work with a low cut cleat.

Strap snapped
Besides it being great for ankle control, my strap broke on the first wear.

Best ankle protection but needs stronger velcro
I got one of these back when they first started gaining popularity. I will say that this is by far the best protection for your ankle. I had a damaged ankle when I started trying out for professional soccer teams and I was wearing one of these the entire time. I ended up getting picked up and was able to play in Sweden. This brace went above and beyond to protect my ankle so I could achieve my dream. My ankle did end up blowing out when I kicked the ball at the same time as another player that came from the side of me, but it was a ticking time bomb anyway and nothing in the world would have prevented that. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is because it seems like the velcro has changed. Back when I got my first one, the velcro stuck very strong and it would never come loose. I just purchased two new ones and the velcro straps are always coming undone.

So we needed a better solution. We searched and found the Battle xFAST ...
My daughter is a high school soccer player and plays for one of the top clubs in our state. She sprained her ankle during a state tournament while playing club soccer this spring. After several weeks of PT, she wanted to get back to playing but felt a little uncomfortable and afraid of re-injuring her ankle. The trainers started taping her ankle every day before practice. While that works, tape loses it's effectiveness after about 10-15 minutes of play. So we needed a better solution. We searched and found the Battle xFAST ankle brace. The brace allowed her to return to play full time this summer. She trained all summer and is currently in the middle of a state high school championship run and her ankle remains 100% supported by the xFAST. The brace does not slow her down one bit. Sprained ankles have ended a couple of her close friends soccer careers. One ended up having to have surgery to correct the injury from repeated sprains. My hope is that the xFAST will continue to support her ankle. And as long as it does that, we will be a loyal customer for life. Thanks xFAST!
