Could be great, yes. Not losing any of the monstrous number of pieces would be quite impressive.
Could be useful in creating brilliant projects and thereby engendering brilliance in your child BUT that’d require not losing any of the multitude of items: ~IMPROBABLE!

Very nice toy that opens the imagination of the recipient
This was the first of several of these toys that are alike, and they allow the child to engineer new toys by combining the wheels, fans, and solar power base. Highly recommended the toy to the young engineer that likes to build.

a lot of stuff
lots of bits and pieces but nothing really fits/connects together without soldering wires and adding actual connectors.the crank arm doesn't fit the crank generator.
