This is an excellent camera for those who want to get started in 360 content. The Insta360 X3 is a solid choice if you're looking for a camera that delivers good quality at a reasonable price. The device has a 1/2" sensor and records in 5.7K, which makes it great for capturing high-quality footage. It even has an 8K timelapse mode for even higher quality content. It also comes with Me Mode, which removes the keyframing and tracking steps that were needed in the past if you wanted to focus on your self. This camera is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, making it easy to use with almost any phone or tablet. Using the Insta360 app you can pick from a wide array of templates, trick shots, or edit your own footage. The community is also very nice and supportive. The Insta360 X3 also has a larger display than previous models which make it easier to see what I'm filming without having to take out my phone or look at it through the small porthole viewfinder like the X2. The battery life has been updated as well. It's not a huge difference but I did notice I was able to record for an extra 5-10 minutes which is great considering the display size has increased substantially. If you're in the market for a well rounded fun 360 camera the X3 is a solid choice. PS: the Giraffe picture was taken on the X3 and the bicycle video was recorded using Me Mode.

Insta360 has made some incredible cameras in their short history but the Insta360 X3 has to be one of the best. They have taken some of what their higher end 1" 360 camera had (which I also own) and put it in a body like the previous X models to make a supercharged action 360 camera. There is something nothing else even close to this for its capabilities, features, and quality. Having the nice big screen is huge for action since you can easily change what you need to while on the go while also seeing what the camera sees, without having to get super close and squint like with some other competitor non-360 cameras. The footage and images this thing puts out are just fantastic and it is super durable as well. I will grab this for some outings before I will touch the 1" 360 camera, thanks to the X3's durability and waterproofing. Plus, the Insta360 app has been amazing, kind of like giving you a studio in your pocket for right after you captured your awesome footage. The Insta360 X3 has a new 1/2 sensor which gives better low light performance and greater detail, something that even the new GoPro HERO 11 does not offer. The higher megapixel count gives greatly detailed photographs as well, in addition to giving you extra space to crop in. Anyway, I currently own 4 Insta360 cameras as well as other action cameras and I can tell you - the Insta360 X3 is the one to have. If you don't want 360 footage all the time, the new X3 you can also shoot single-lens mode to capture just one direction, great for if you don't want to reframe the 360 footage and you just want to capture one direction. For all your action or any kind of on-the-go photo/video needs, the Insta360 X3 will check every box and, when combined with the Insta360 app, you will have a go-anywhere studio that gives you views, angles, and images that you cannot get with any other camera. Give it a try! I will update this more after I have used it for some other activities as well.

This is my second Insta360 X3. I love this little 360 camera for action sports and daily vlog-style 360 videos for our travel video and BTS production video. I bought this one mostly for capturing my own snowboarding adventure. Here is what I think about using the Insta360 X3 for snowboarding and action sports: To get the best-reframed action footage, I will highly recommend getting the unicorn helmet mount (V2) and the GPS Action Remote, as shown in my photos. I only use its HDR video mode - which get the best image quality over snow and action. Lots of bad reviews here is because of the shooting settings. You do need to learn how to shoot with this camera correctly to get BETTER than regular GoPro footage. This means controlling your ISO, Shutter Speed or shooting in HDR Video Mode. Here is how I shoot snowboarding POV video using this new X3: 1️⃣ Use a GoPro mount to secure unicorn mount pole 2️⃣ Connect insta360 GPS action remote or your phone to insta360 X3 3️⃣ Remote trigger recording on your X3 4️⃣ Film your snowboarding 5️⃣ Edit in Insta360 app - reframe using AI tracking See my video here for more info. This camera is also waterproof and can be used underwater. But we recommend using underwater housing, and please be careful of full seal the battery unit. The battery is also winter sports ready - another thing we love this camera for snowboarding The only downside is overheating issue. We run into overheating during summer in hot weather after 20 min continue filming. I hope this review help snowboarder or skier out there to pick the right action 360 camera. If you are on the fence about this camera, you should just do it. After having and still owning drones for video, a handful of gopro versions, digital sLR’s I can honestly say this is the best camera for content I have ever owned and it cost me a little over $400 . :) The good: amazing picture quality, no missing the shot if the camera is on and you saw it you have it. Great stabilization, ok battery time about 30-40 minutes (don’t believe anyone that says hours) it’s a 360 cam and a action cam in one. The software is really easy The bad : let me first say I love it.. the lens are easy to damage setting the camera down the lense glass is always in contact with something, the file size is huge 6GB for a 12 minute video, you can’t move this through wifi it takes forever and fails a lot, uploads off the SIM card arent for the inexperienced. Output file creation takes a long time, uploads to YouTube take a long time. Tech support is not great. Did I mention I love this camera? :)

Once you've worked with a 360 degree camera like this, all other action cameras seem lame. I bought this X3 to replace a well-worn X3 because I have all X3 accessories and as much as I would love to upgrade to X5, it was more practical for me to stay at X3. Such a useful camera despite the X3 tech being a solid few years old now, highly recommended!
