July 8 2023. I'm going on a long trip and I am unaware of finding a reliable gas station as I will drive 500 miles off-road so I decided to buy some fuel containers. After research I decided on these based on YouTube and Amazon reviews. But I cannot trust those reviews 100% so after receiving the 2 pack of Wavian 5.3 Gal/20L Red cans, I filled them with water and did tests. Without the nozzle connected the cans passed the leak test. After I attached the included nozzles, one leaked (see pictures) and the other did not. I contacted the manufacturer Wavian by email and included the zoomed in picture of the pinhole leak and they asked me for my shipping address to send me a replacement. I provided it and I got silence for 1 month as of writing this review. If the nozzle arrives I will be sure to edit this and let you know how long it took to arrive. I am leaving for my trip in a week so little over 2 weeks ago I decided to order another set of the exact same cans and will be returning the originals when new ones arrive. I think out of 4 cans I should have 2 that 100% work. So to summarize this review, Wavian support is unreliable I hope their jerry cans will be. When you order these, if you get lucky and maybe have everything perform as well as the high price makes you think it should. Then you will be fine choosing this brand just don't get your hopes up if you need warranty support in the future. It’s a shame that multiple vendors are selling these and the first set I ordered will be a return because the Wavian company failed in supporting their product. Update September 11 2023: I am lowering my rating to two stars because Wavian company never sent me replacement nozzles. They just don't care. I will however order another set from a different company as the cans themselves are excellent and don't leak no matter how I placed them in the car during the off-road part of my trip. The car was bouncing and shaking and no leaks whatsoever. One star is for my entire experience with this company. If they care they will contact me and I will adjust my review as I still have their product from another order after I returned this one and the nozzles still leak! I did temporarily sealed them with silicone but I know gasoline brakes down silicone. Anyway, buy these jerry cans only if you do not plan on using the nozzles.

I would give them 5 stars however their nozzle system is ridiculously stupid. I have several of these cans that I have purchased over the years and these are by far the strongest and sturdiest compared to the cheap Chinese versions. However the cheap Chinese versions have a simple and easy spout that will let you pour fuel at a reasonable pace compared to this system that takes forever and fails after a few times. I have had several of these where the top screw comes undone and the whole spring, screw and end cap end up in my fuel tank. Now when I purchase a new one I just unscrew the whole thing, take the spring out and snap the silly air tube; this way I do not have to go digging for them in my tank. I have also used the spout from the Chinese ones that are simple with no archaic mechanism in them and it works fine. For comparison, it took me 6 minutes to empty the can using their spout compared to just under 2 minutes using a simple Chinese spout. Wavian, do yourself a favor and do away with this silly no spill fuel mechanism that do not work and fail 100% of the time. At least make it so that we can easily remove it without having to break the spout This way you will appease the politicians in Europe that require it and keep your customers happy by allowing us to easily remove the mechanism and have a respectable fuel flow.

As others have stated, I he cans seem okay, but the included "safety" spouts are garbage. The anti-spill mechanism requires far too much pressure to actuate which, ironically, leads to spills. This also can lead to breakage of the brittle plastic spout and in my case lead to broken plastic pieces and the strainer falling into the gas tank of my brand new expensive generator. Uncool. This was my very first time using this and I did not store the spout out in the sun. These metal gas cans really should come with metal spouts IMO that is not too much to ask for this price. The spouts are unacceptable.
