Perfect Little Smart Speaker!
I absolutely love my Echo Dot with Clock! The sound quality is excellent for its size, and the LED display is super handy for quickly checking the time, timers, and weather. It’s sleek, compact, and fits perfectly on my nightstand. Alexa responds quickly, and I use it daily for music, alarms, and controlling smart devices around the house. Setup was a breeze too. Great little device that packs a lot of features. I love it so much I have one in every bedroom.

Nifty Gizmo, Tricky Set-up, but Still a Bug
I am a longtime internet radio listener. Suddenly, and without warning (for me), Logitech recently pulled the plug on their servers after 10 years and instantly obsoleted the three internet radios I had around the house. I decided on Echo Dots as probably being the best solution to replace the radios. And indeed that is the case. Like my radios, with TuneIn on the Dots I can access just about any genre of audio format programming from around the world with a simple "Alexa play..."Sonically, these little guys are quite impressive given their size. They're not going to fill a room with concert-hall-quality sound but that's not what they're primarily designed to do.As for Alexa integration and set up, I did not find that to be as easy as Amazon suggests. The Dots come with minimalist setup instructions that basically say download the app, plug in the Dot, and follow the prompts. However, my router is partitioned into Primary, Internet of Things, and Guest. I wanted to install the Dots on my IoT. But an option was never given to select the partition I wanted. Apparently the Dots were going to install on whatever network the tablet was on that I was using for setup. It took me a while to work through what to do in order to get them installed as I wanted. There were also other problems that needed to be solved through trial and error that required some googling to figure out. Eventually the first Dot sprung to life but I still don't really have a good grip on what I did to make that happen. Luckily, once the first Dot was installed, the other two were essentially PnP. But the whole process took hours, not minutes, along with a fair amount of anxiety and uncertainty about what I was doing. NOT.SO.SIMPLE.I also don't find the Alexa app to be very user friendly. It's not at all intuitive and takes a fair amount of internet searching just to find out what you can do with the Dots let alone make it happen. Finally, no one should ever forget that in days of yore, government agents would either have to sneak into your home or get court orders to place a bug. The old East German Stasi would never have believed that people would willingly bug themselves like this. These smart speakers are listening devices you are voluntarily putting in your home or office that listen to everything you say, presumably just waiting for the magic word "Alexa" before they start processing the information you provide. As paranoid as it may sound, it doesn't take too much imagination for how these devices could be employed or hacked to violate someone's personal privacy in some places around the world now or in the future.Fortunately, the Dots have a prominent button to turn off the microphone so you can lower the Cone of Silence when necessary (assuming you really want to believe that the mic couldn't be turned back on by a determined foe). The problem, however, is that these Dots are so small and unobtrusive that they just fade into the background, out of sight and out of mind. You forget they're there and listening!

Bought two — one for me and one for my son. We both love it!
I purchased two Echo Dot (5th Gen with clock) devices — one for myself and one for my son — and I couldn’t be happier. The sound quality is surprisingly good for such a small device, and the built-in LED clock display is a fantastic touch. We use it every day: from checking the weather, setting alarms, and listening to music, to controlling our smart home devices.✅ What I love:The compact design fits anywhere.LED clock is clear and useful, even at night.Alexa responds quickly and understands our commands easily. After several months of use, both units still perform flawlessly.Highly recommended for anyone wanting a smart assistant with good sound and a clean, minimal look.

Small, Smart, and Powerful
I’m very happy with this smart speaker. The sound is clear and powerful for its size, and the front clock is super useful, especially at night. Alexa works perfectly, responds quickly, and controls my devices with no issues. Plus, the design is modern and sleek. Highly recommended!

Fun and Helpful
I have been having fun with this as soon as I received it and plugged it in. There was no trouble at all. You simply download the Alexa app and it basically sets up itself. Though I had previously linked it to amazon. It has been fun setting up routines and changing the voice. I have inquired about the weather and it seems to have been a truthful weather (person) so far. I purchased a second echo dot in order to have surround sound and the sound comes through very clearly and impressively. It kind of reminds me of playing with a furby when they first came out. Though furby's got old kind of quickly, alexa is like another person of which you have full control over...I gave this 4 stars as I did want to use the surround sound for my tv, which is a Roku, and it does not work for this purpose. Before purchase I read that alexa was compatible with a Roku smart tv. While this is true, only afterwards did I find out that this only means that alexa can turn the channel or the sound up on your tv, yet does not have the ability to use as a surround sound system for a Roku tv. Yet is supposedly only good for working with a fire tv. So am disappointed about this. But alexa is still fun to work with. Another thing is only a slight annoyance when playing songs. You ask alexa to play the song you would like, some songs are played freely, some songs you need a subscription for, then when the song is over alexa just keeps on playing unless you set a timer. So the annoyance comes as the song may be available and you just have to take a chance, or alexa shuffles similar music you may not like, or if allowed to keep playing may play music you possibly hate.I would suggest for the second echo dot since it does not have the screen/time feature that when setting the volume it could briefly tell you what volume it is on. Though you can ask it.Overall it has been very fun and I'm sure I will discover more ways to use this as life progresses. And since it was all so simple, I am considering buying more alexa's and more smart products in the future to extend to whole house. Happy and Delighted. Thank you for making this electronic device.
