Shine Kitchen Co. SJX-1 Easy Cold Press Juicer with XL Feed Chute and Compact Body (White)

I got to admit, I was quite skeptical upon receiving this juicer as i had been using a large centrifugal juicer that was fast and I felt that I didn't get as much juice out of the Shine. However, the reason I purchased it was because I am traveling weekly (by car) for the next 3 years and wanted a compact juicer to bring with me. Now that I have been using it for nearly a month, I am in love with it. First of all it is simple to use if you follow the instructions. I have no problem putting it together & taking it apart to clean. (Just make sure you remember to replace the plug from the pulp chute on the bottom before trying to put it together. ) There are only 3 pieces to clean. I have yet to need either of the included cleaning brushes or the scraper thing to dislodge stuck food. All in all it is better than the centrifugal juicer I was using that constantly had to be stopped to clean the mesh screen from caked & dried fibrous fruits and veggies. The only reason I stop the Shine is to empty the pulp cup which has much drier pulp than the centrifugal juicer. I really don't anticipate any mechanical issues as there are no blades to dull or fine mesh screens to get clogged up. Oh yeah & it is much quieter than my other juicer as well. Win, win, win.

This Shine Cold Press juicer works great with most everything except celery and ginger. The celery and ginger get stuck and won’t come out the shoot. Other than that it’s great. It is super easy to put together and super easy to take apart and clean. I’m keeping it even even though the celery and ginger gets stuck because of how easy it is to use.

Bought this coming from an OLD juicer, this was much faster and for the price it worked well. This juicer can handle large pieces with ease. It is VERY easy to clean needing mostly warm water and nothing else to remove pulp. Putting it together is simple enough its only 3 pieces you don't need instructions. Now for the down sides: I doesn't extract as much juice as my old juicer. It was a similar model with a smaller hopper but the pulp was DRY. This unit while being faster leaves more juice behind in the pulp. The top of the hopper has a "cup' that swings to allow food in. It seems to be designed stop you from cramming massive pieces in the machine but it simply gets in the way. Once you have your fruits and veggies prepared constantly having to "dump" things in is annoying. And the worst... If you look at my picture there is a red circle this is where it leaks this is a rubber gasket that the augur sits on, below that is the motor. I have tried to recreate the problem. From what I can tell it leaks when you try to juice harder root crops ... like jicama, beets, carrots Last time is used this it leaked BAD when I tried juicing beets it leaked bad enough that I started to smell something burning. I quickly shut it off. I don't know if mine is defective but this is a deal breaker for me. This juicer is advertised showing you can put whole carrots and full apples. you probably can but I'm sure it will leak.

I'm loving my Shine XL. It's so easy to clean and handles celery (cut into 1" pieces) and carrots easily. It's true that the pulp is wetter and the amount of juice produced is lower than with some other juicers. I think this is the reason why the Shine XL will last for many years. If the juicer squeezed more juice from the pulp, then higher stresses would be put on the motor and all of the plastic parts, which would increase the likelihood of it breaking. I'm very happy with it.

It's not a bad juicer, four stars if it works. But I had an ongoing issue of the chute getting misaligned and stuck while in operation. I'd have to exert tremendous force to unlock the device. I'm not sure what causes this, seems to happen when I put it in reverse too long or start it with a full load. The auger seems to get stuck and misaligned when you start with a full load of pomegranate seeds. So with that issue I knock this back to three stars. Believing I had a manufacturer's defect, I contacted Tribest about the issue, requesting a warranty replacement. The response wasn't an offer to replace it but "try feeding the juicer slower." Feeding it too fast and full, it starts to crack under pressure. Two stars. I continued pestering to them that it's a defect and I'd have to send it in for them to inspect. I pay shipping, if they find out something is wrong, they repair, if they can't repair the issue the replace it. They cover shipping and inspection.

Great little juicer for someone starting out with juicing, or a good travel juicer for someone who juices regularly at home and wants to be able to make juice while traveling. I bought this for my sister, who wanted an unintimidating juicer to start with. I used it at her house and like it. It can handle things such as carrot, celery, green apple. Its manual says it has a 20-minute maximum continuous runtime before it needs to rest, but that's plenty of time. Fast and easy to clean. Much easier and faster to clean than the more powerful Kuvings EVO820 juicer I have at home. Very compact. John Kohler (who has thousands of videos on YouTube about juicing) uses a Shine compact juicer for when he's traveling, since it would fit in carry-on luggage.

super compacto y ligero - viajo mucho y es un verdadero alivio porque pesa muy poco comparado con los otros extractores que he tenido… llevo 4 meses usandolo a diario y no me ha fallado hasta ahora. hace muy buen jugo, es facil de limpiar pero si hay que cuidar de no poner muchos ingredientes fibrosos (apio, jengibre, zanahorias etc) a la vez y ser paciente dandole tiempo de procesar cada pedazo. comparado con una maquina Omega o el otro extractor que tuve antes no saca tanto jugo (la fibra que sale sigue bastante húmeda en comparacion con Omega que saca todo el liquido) pero en mi caso lo considero un detalle menor, porque lo mas importante para mi es el tamaño y el peso de la maquina

Pequeño pero eficiente, no ocupa mucho espacio en mi cocina. Muy fácil de lavar. No desperdicia mucho como otros. Muy buena opción calidad -precio.
