Great product. simple no messing.
Works better than any stud finder I have used before. Even finds the centre of the stud which gives great confidence . I couldn't use my son's fancy version (neither can he) which was 3 times the price.

Great little tool
Does the job it's meant to do !! One point I do like is the centre green light indicator for middle of the wood beam !! Very good idea...

Works perfectly!
This is my third stud finder over the last few years. A bosch one that falsely detected wires, steel and wood in thin air, the second that detected studs in one direction but passing over the same area it detected studs in completely different locations.. bought this before resorting to thumping on the wall + guesswork and exploratory drilling. Enter the Franklin Sensor.. two AAA batteries and a single pass properly detected the studs (one in a location where thumping on the wall seemed hollow).. the red lights and green to show stud center was exactly what i was looking for. I didn't need it to detect oil 30 ft under my garden or gold deposits in sheer rock face.. just what i bought it for.. which is did perfectly.

Good tool
Needed to do some refurbishments in the house and this is perfect for checking walls. I read several bad reviews for this product but my experience was good. Perhaps this is a tool suitable more for the needs of the non-professional buyers. Easy to use and no calibration needed. Press and hold the button to begin scanning.

Good joist finder .... With a catch
Just take care as the same lights appear when travelling over pipes and electrics as over joists. So good to detect of SOMETHING is behind the wall .... A bit of common sense needing to be applied to figure out what it might be though!

Great tool for the DIYer
Great tool for finding studs, I have used it a few times now and has always been extremely accurate, just be sure to move it relatively fast across the wall for best results. I even opened up some plasterboard on my wall in a separate task and revealed the stud and as a test checked how accurate the stud reader was and its bang on, noting that I used it on standard 15mm plasterboard
