Like these shoes, although not to thrilled with the four lacing hoops near the top, have not encountered these types of lacing holders before. Wonder about shoe lace longevity because of the relatively sharp edges of these hoops. Maybe just slightly larger hole buttons would be better for quick lacing near the top, or the old style of wrap-arounds, those work well. But the large hoops do function satisfactorily, so far.Another interesting feature is the [similar to] new tire odor that comes from the shoes after walking on warm asphalt when you get in the vehicle or indoors; but not to be dismayed it doesn't permeate the air too long. As of this writing the shoes have only been worn for about a week. The odor will likely diminish in a short time, as with new car tires.All in all, if price is a concern, then this boot is a good bet.

I enjoyed wearing this boot for about eight years until the glue that holds the sole together expired. The leather and rubber tread still looked good and I could have gotten another decade out of this boot if it hadn't fallen apart. I tried different adhesives but couldn't fine one to put this Humpty Dumpty back together again. Good boot for the short term.

I had an almost new pair of a competitor's shoe of this same style that my feet hate! I've worn these on several occasions - all day - and it's somewhat remarkable how good my feet feel at the end of the day. I would recommend these to anyone interested in this style of boot. The only thing I would change is that I would put speed laces at the top. That being said, they seem to tighten well enough and one can loosen them enough to get them off - without unlacing them entirely. I am very satisfied with these boots and am relieved that I didn't have to spend 200 dollars to get something this comfortable.

Originally bought these for a Halloween costume to complete a Jack Torrance from The Shining look. These boots were so comfortable, I wore them half the time at work for the last month! The other things I like are they clean off really easily, and the treads don’t grab and bring in a lot of the yard with me. They’re sturdy and provide a lot more ankle support than I thought, but wear in and are easy to get on. Who knew after making affordable stuff for work for decades, they might know what they’re doing!
