ASTRO Gaming A40 TR Mod Kit for Tournament Noise Isolation, Red

Earpads are very comfortable but the mic is rubbish. It's too heavy and thus won't stay where you put it so i just use the stock one. It's a good product but not too sure if the price is warranted.

These aren't a must, but it definitely gives the premium headset the "premium" look and feel it so rightly deserves The mic is longer and looks more durable, people have never complained about not hearing me (or complaints with background noise) The headband stops that annoying "headset hairdo" you get when wearing it for too long and makes it feel a lot better for those long gaming sessions The new ear cups/tags are an acquired taste. Some people complain about their ears getting too hot but I've not had that problem personally. It completely immerses you in whatever game/movie/TV show you're watching and with extremely little noise leak Couldn't recommend this enough if you're looking for an extra accessory for your gaming setup :)

At first i was apprehensive over buying this set after spending alot of money on the headset to begin with but within a few minutes of fitting the kit i can say i am really happy that i did buy this! everything is super easy to install thanks to ear cups being held on by magnets, the headrest simply clips in to the support and its ready to go. the ear tags make all the difference, as soon as you put them in place noise is basically gone from outside sources and makes gaming more immersive. great quality for the items included (i didnt test mic as i have a standalone desk mic) and i can see them lasting quite a while. again im glad i bought these and would recommend them to anyone!

I've had A40's for years, before things like these kit's where available, so I was a bit sceptical about buying these thinking they wouldn't be worth the money as I didn't won't or need the mic, ear tags or headband cushion and thought the so called noise cancelling they claim would be negligible at best, But I will admit that I was completely wrong on all counts. The ear cushions are the first thing I tried out as mine had seen better days and right off the bat they make the A40's sound a lot better with getting rid of background noise ie case fans, fan and phone hardly noticeable what so. Then I added the ear tags and for me that was too much background noise suppression and also if you push the ear cups on your ear, they create suction on your ear that annoyed me and made my inner ear feel like I was climbing to a cruising altitude of 30,000 feet which isn't my cup of tea while been a little sound whore but each to their own, but with the standard ear tags they are great and they also breathe a new lease of life into my 4 year old set of A40's which is good for the wallet. Too anyone on the fence about purchasing these I would definitely recommend them even if it's just freshen up your saggy manky ear cushions, also the mic seems to be more sensitive than the original and if you are using a mixamp with the A40's you may have to change your sound profile I found the tournament preset better with these or just adjust your in game settings.

I was unsure weather to buy this product as other reviews said that the leather ear pieces were uncomfortable but I can assure you they are far from it... I wear my headset for long periods of time 8+ hours some times and I have no irritation at all compared to the stock parts... the best part about the headset for me is everything goes quiet and with a noisy household this is where it really shines.... the only downside I can see is if you shake your head alot the heavier noise cancelling microphone sometimes drops down below your chin but as long as you dont shake your head listening to rock music your all good...

i think the mod kit is a little over priced for a few bits of plastic but i still love the look of the product and goes with my gaming setup well as everything is red and black

Copying this from amazon.com because it is spot on, they will do until the actual proper earpads come back in stock (only reason i bought these as it was urgently needed, the proper one had completely torn off) Not really an "upgrade", but a side-grade. The Astro A40 TR's ship with open earpads and earplates. This basically means you can hear your IRL surroundings almost like you're not wearing headphones at all. That may seem undesirable at first, but there are positives to that design. Far less ear fatigue with air reaching your ears regularly, and a more open sound stage give you a bit better depth to measuring enemy distances. This comes at the expensive of less bass and the possibility of background noise like city traffic interrupting your immersion. These faux leather eapads that come with the Mod Kit, as well as the headphone plate do an exceptional job of sealing the headphone to my ears. I can actually feel the air pressure as I put on the headphones. It strongly muffles passive sounds, like traffic, running water, or a fan. Because of the air seal, low frequency sounds are much more prominent and your EQ presets may need to be adjusted to avoid too much boomy bass. And I have more noticeable trouble interpreting distance of sounds, even with Dolby Surround Sound enabled. In short, make a preset with less bass for the these pads, and have a preset with more bass for your original pads. Don't throw your old pads, mic out. Keep them stored away because these are situational accessories.

Love the Astro A40 TR headphones already but these gave them a bit more style. They definitely work for isolating sound. The new mic is a little longer than the original which is a bonus because I don't know how many times I hadn't positioned the old one properly and was talking to myself with no response. Comfortable and installation couldn't be easier. Everything snaps off and back in with little to no effort. Hope this helps any other Astro users sitting on the fence. Most definetly an upgrade. The only issue is whether you want to spend the money I guess.

Ottimo kit da aggiungere alle cuffie se vuoi rendere le cuffie "closed back". Il microfono è infinitamente migliore, ma è un po' più pesantuccio. Quindi una volta attaccato, se muovi la testa frequentemente tende a scivolare verso il basso... In sintesi do 5 stelle al modkit perché la qualità è davvero stupenda, l'isolamento acustico funziona alla perfezione (il microfono deve essere attaccato per isolare al 100% la cuffia, se no resta un buco aperto) e la cuffia resta comodissima come sempre.

For functionality, style, and comfort, it is far better than I expected. The mod kit fixes the two issues I had with the headset: 1) noise cancelling and 2) comfort. The default kit hurt the top of my head, and outside noise would interfere with hearing audio queues in games. Obviously, it's not perfect, but it is a HUGE improvement. I was on the fence for a long time, but I'm so glad I pulled the trigger.

かなり密閉されます。外音がほぼ聞こえないのでゲームに集中出来ます!マイクは試してませんが音抜けがしないぶん発砲音のリアリティが減ってしまう感じがしますが少しの音でも聴き逃しが無いので性能には満足です。 ただ密閉度合いがすごく、耳内の気圧が変わる（装着した瞬間鼓膜が圧迫されてる感じ）ので人によって少し慣れが必要かもです。

Es un buen producto pero al precio que tiene para algunos se le puede hacer caro en pocas palabras sirve para reducir el sonido exterior el micrófono obviamente no se va a escuchar tan claro como el de stock por defecto pero en sí viene mejorado ya que elimina más el ruido esterior en si las almuadillas recomiendo que los limpien ya que con el tiempo del uso se puede poner feo en sí la piel que nos cubre la oreja por que se pone grasoso en sí la piel así como la almuadilla de la cabeza.
