Trumpeter 06801 German WWII DKM U-Boat Type VIIC U-552 Plastic Model Kit 1:48 Scale

Arrived a day earlier than stated upon order. Huge shipping box with a big box inside and the kit contents in smaller boxes inside that so very well protected during shipping/handling. Quality of parts is excellent ; nothing seems missing (even the notorious ‘W’ parts in a small bag, not on a sprue). My only concern is that it is really difficult to confirm that all 1100+ parts are present before commencing the build; will only find that out once its started. Probably 6 to 9 months to build properly with all internal parts painted and detailed, I’m adding internal lighting and detail upgrades from other sources so it might take a little longer for me to complete. All good with seller and product.

Ordered monday and just arrived wednesday morning + free delivery. Now I have read concerns about the W sprue missing. It is not. It is a bag in the same box as the crew figures. It contains 4 pieces of the engine loose in the bag sealed. Now, Packet came well packed in thick brown cardboard box and well secured . Unpacked and Model box was as expected, unmarked in any way. I checked all parts inside boxes and everything is well protected and in perfect condition. Nothing snapped or scratched or broken and cracked in any way. This kit is perfect and exactly as I expected. The price I paid on Amazon was fantastic and worked out at little over half RRP and was a bargain I could not resist. Saving of about £180 back in my pocket were it should be. Well done Amazon.

Fantastic price for the model, highly detailed both inside and out,looks amazing when he inside is fitted with LEDs, all of the components will fit together correctly and produce a stunning finished model

I have just received this kit and, as I saw that one contributor reported that sprue W was missing, I thought I would make sure everything was there and, unfortunately, I also found that sprue W is missing. This is a bit annoying, but probably not the end of the world. The kit looks huge and wonderful, but I do not want to give it a proper rating until it is built. It loses one star because spre W is missing. Change if mind, as it cost a lot and a part is missing, I am returning it.

Well this box is huge! and so is the Uboat model. took me about 6 weeks to build and the quality of the model was amazing. I added some old xmas lights to it and it looks great.

Fantastic detail even down to a full (in bits) crew, who all look like each other.

turned up today when expected opened box and was blown away quality of parts superb you can hold both dry parts of hull between finger and thumb on both hands and it sits firmly together detail is finite as a person who is returning to modelling after ahem many years im somewhat daunted but should provide months of entertainment
