Great hive tool, simple and quality as it should be!

The J bend is useful for prizing frames out when they have been propolised by the bees, the scraper at the end is good for removing excess burr comb and cleaning off old frames. I prefer to use a hive tool with a lanyard attached held on the upper arm by a loop with a slip knot adjusted to correct length. To locate it when required, you just drop your hand and close your grip on it. Less chance of mislaying it. I also like to paint a red and a yellow enamel stripe round the shaft for easy location in long growth.

I have used the normal J tool up until now, I will not go back, this is the only hive tool you will need its great was much easier to move the frames and you can still use the hook to start to pull them out

Excellent tool all you will need in a Hive tool J type and standard in one. I've used this design of hive tool since 2015, never had a problem.
