PanPastel 5 Colour Starter Set - Painting Set

I have really wanted to try these for a while but because they are quite expensive I kept on putting it off. However I eventually decided that I could do quite a bit with just the primaries and so took the plunge and bought this basic set. Well, I will no longer complain about the cost that's for sure. Despite the pans being quite small, this stuff goes a long, long way. Obviously it's still quite expensive to set up with a good selection of colour but now I have seen what good value the pans are I will be more willing to pay that outlay. With some trial and error I was able to get not only shades of the primaries but of secondaries and, to a lesser extent, tertiaries too. They really do mix like paints, but this is still a limited pallet and though it has shown me how well they mix, it's obvious that for any serious work I will need more colours. If you were concentrating on something like house florals you could probably get away with just this set and maybe an extra green but it would be more work than necessary when so many other colours are available, and it would be quite limiting. I have yet to receive my blending medium (from another seller) so I haven't really seen just how versatile they are but I am already impressed by what can be done. The greatest thing for me is just how quick they are to lay down over a large area. I detest doing backgrounds for my coloured pencil and soft pastel work but these make it a breeze. And colour pencil and pastel go over the pan pastels (and vice versa to an extent) meaning they really do make my life so much easier. My pans all arrived in good condition and although I have used them quite a lot, hardly any pastel seems to be gone. As you can tell, I am very happy with these and will be buying more Pan Pastels. My only regret is that I didn't try them sooner.

Very good value for money. Excellent colour range and really good for blending. When I ordered these from Hyatts in the USA I was told they would arrive between the 30th August to 5th September but was pleasantly surprised when they were delivered today 23rd August. They were also cheaper than if I had ordered the same set in the UK. Thank you Hyatts really impressed with your service

Good starter kit. Great for backgrounds and larger areas. Can be painted over with pastel pencils. You can't separate the colours on a desk indefinitely, as the top of one is the bottom of the next, stacked.

Wow, these pan pastels are a delight to use Creamy, not too much dust when using, great blending capability. Lovely choice of colours, especially for animal artwork only slight negative is that the pans do not have individual lids, but instead screw and stack. Nothing else negative, just that they take a while to arrive plus postage. However, we'll worth the wait.

I wanted to get some pan pastels but they are so individually expensive that I was making do with my chalk pastel sticks for backgrounds and for adding to my art work but it’s hard to avoid some streaks. When I saw these at a good price I had to get them as you can mix all of the different colours from this set. I’m so glad I bought them as they apply really smoothly with no streaks and they blend beautifully (I recommend some blending tools and/or sponges). Fix them with a bit of cheap hairspray and they won’t smudge. Great buy.

My daughter had bought these set of 5 of these panned pastels back in late October and she recieved them today,on Christmas,they were all severely damaged and broke,meaning it was very fragile to use.Earlier,when my daughter was drawing with them,she's unscrewed the pink pastel at the bottom,it went all over her brand new desk and chair due to it being upside down.It was very dusty and I would not recommend buying from this seller,it was not worth the money at all and it was a very disappointing result.

After reading the review I was a little apprehensive as some of the Pans seem to come damaged but I still wanted to try them as I have heard great things. Well!! all 10 came in perfect condition and they look fantastic and silky. I know some people have issues as there is only one lid, but the others all screw on top of each other, so for me no issue at all. A label with all the colours come with, that wrap around the whole cylinder. This is the only slight and I mean slight issue as it may have been better to have a colour on the side of each dish so you know what is in each pot instead of having to go back to the label and counting down to the colour you need. Would I recommend? YES. I know it is not cheap but the quality is fantastic and goes a lot further and is easier to blend than sticks or pencils. Comes with a few tools, a little bit small for my hands but I did not buy for the tools. Overall, 10/10 for me.

Pan Pastel ist definitiv die Premium Marke für Pastellfarben. Ich kenne keine besseren. Ich habe sehr viele ausprobiert. Natürlich ist der Preis nicht ohne, aber wer sie ausprobiert wird sofort feststellen was für tolles hochwertiges Malen es gleich wird. Ich hab fast alle Farben, weil ich nicht mehr was anderes verwenden möchte.

viele Grün Töne, auch hellgrüne und mint und fast gelb sowie dunkelgrün. Ich nutze es für Krepppapier-Blüten und die Blätter dazu.
