Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Sonic electric toothbrush HX9331/32

I bought my first one in 2013 and it lasted until 2015 (2yrs, then it went dead and wouldn't re-charge). It was a very good electric toothbrush while it lasted so I got another, which lasted until 2020. The third one one gave out in January 2022, so a little over a year and the vibration mechanism became unsteady, rattling all over the place. Switched to an Oral-b Genius, a bit less expensive and doesn't have the sonic technology but maybe the next best thing. To Sonicare's credit, they then replaced their last one, which was still within the 2-yr guarantee. (So I ended up with two toothbrushes.) Both brands clean the teeth and additionally have lots of semi-redundant electronics. A year or so later of using both, I’ve updated my review to give a higher rating, the reason is this: The main competitor, the Oral-b, is a good brush but like a jack hammer compared to the Sonicare. It has a warning light to tell you if you’re “pressing too hard” but that doesn’t alter the fact that it works basically by pounding your teeth. It’s like a very upmarket version of any cheaper electric toothbrush. The Sonicare takes a couple of weeks to get used to — the instructions point this out and suggest an initial lower setting: it’s a sort of tingling vibration as it sends the water between your teeth. But after getting used to both, I found the Sonicare far preferable. It’s a gentle sensation, whereas the Oral-b feels more violent. I end up using the Sonicare for the full two minutes finding it enjoyable whereas the Oral-b is far less pleasant and the temptation is to skip. So it costs more. It doesn’t last forever. But if you’re happy with that I think it’s a better product.

I'm a recent convert to electric toothbrushes (with this one), and wishing I'd made the move years ago. I thought I cleaned my teeth pretty well with a manual brush, but now it's permanently like I've just had a visit to the hygienist. The brush comes with a charging stand that plugs into a bathroom socket, and also with a travel case that charges via USB. I've only used the case to transport it so far, not for charging, but it feels decent quality and protects the handle and brush head nicely. The scant instructions which came in the box didn't mention anything about when to charge it or how long for, but when it needs a charge (normally after a couple of weeks) the handle buzzes a couple of times when you turn it off. It then seems to need around 24 hours of charging (the light on the handle goes from orange to green when it's done). (I've been assuming) you can still use it in the middle of a charge, then pop it back in the stand to carry on charging. One slight negative for me: the brush head it came with must've been faulty, I think, as it got looser and looser after a few weeks, and kept coming off mid-brush. I swapped it out for a new one, and it's been absolutely fine since, so think the first one was just a duff.

10 out of 10 ! - fantastic, having used it now for a month I can honestly say it's the best ever toothbrush I have used [and I'm 57]. Pro's - Battery life is easily as advertised and great for travel covering well over 2 weeks using twice a day for most days. Very light and comfortable for its size. Vast improvement in the whiteness of my teeth - many years a smoker and a tea/coffee addict.... Try using Janina toothpaste with this! Big Plus!! - no more gum bleeding!!! - this I just can't believe, I thought it would be very harsh - but no! glide slowly over all your teeth. Various programs/setting and they actually do something different each setting. Charging time about a mere 5-6 hours to full - then run for at least 3 weeks. Glass charger cup/chrome small base nice in the bathroom Travel case as standard and charges by USB while inside the neat case. Cons - For me only one and at the price I paid for this [cyber Monday £74.99] its not really a complaint - replacement original brush heads are £30 for 4 and supposed to last 3 months then recommended to change them, however I got 2 replacement original diamondclean heads from Asda for £12 when on offer from £19.99 for 2. Only comes with 1 toothbrush head as standard All in all super buy - super item and I would definitely recommend..

The product as expected arrived in a good time as expected from Amazon. This was ordered as 2 separate Electric Toothbrush as Philips had limited options for a dual pack used for a family. this replaced a Braun Electicial toothbrush, The first observation on the use of the electric toothbrush was the rotation of the brush on the Braun regularly resulted in a splash of toothpaste etc from your mouth, the Philps while intense did not appear to a have the same effect but did the same job in cleaning your teeth, The battery when fully charged lasted over 10 days leaving the travel case nice but a gimmick not required for over a week, The USB charger cable of the case is old fashioned and not compatible with any modern phone resulting in another cable to be carried if traveling. The glass which fits on the top of the charger looks nice and easy to clean with little practical use. The most annoying part of the brush is the one-button option which had 5 modes. When attempting to change from option 1 Clean, to option 5 deep clean, and leave the charger on the deep clean option there is no stop option but regularly go around in circles to get to the option required. The manual stated, Removes up to 10x more plaque than a Manual toothbrush this is certainly better than most manual brushes and electric brushes I have used over the years but unless based in a laboratory 99% of the purchaser will never know the difference, The handle is comfortable to hold and use. This electrical toothbrush is on the top end on the electrical toothbrush range which is a brand I have trusted over several years, If cost is not your 1st priority can ‘t fault this toothbrush, in terms of comfort in use or the core job of cleaning your teeth from a trusted brand.

There is clearly a design/material flaw with the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrushes, resulting in a fault which has been experienced and reported by many customers, including myself. I first bought this electric toothbrush on Amazon on 19th November 2019, however within the first week, the metal vibrating drive shaft (which the plastic toothbrush head attaches to) broke/snapped internally inside the handle body (where the electric motor is housed). It was rendered useless, no longer moving and vibrating properly, and resulting in an abnormal rattling and grinding sound. Thankfully I was able to get Amazon to send me a free replacement rather quickly. However, just this weekend, the exact same problem has occurred on the second/replacement electric toothbrush which I have been using since 28th November 2019, despite the fact that I have taken very good care of it (handling, storing, and cleaning it properly). Thankfully, the product is still within the 2 year warranty, and so I have been able to submit a repair/exchange request directly via Philips for a replacement unit. The only problem is, I have lost all confidence in this product and brand, and I no longer wish to continue using it. I'd rather have my money back but unfortunately that is not possible, and they can only provide a repair or replacement. Instead, this week I have purchased and received one of the new Oral-B iO range of electric toothbrushes (the Oral-B iO8 model) which at the time of writing I purchased on sale for £159.99 (down from an eye wateringly high £449.99) on Amazon UK. It features Oral-B's new linear magnetic drive system (much quieter, effective and efficient compared to Oral-B's previous generation of electric toothbrushes that have a mechanical drive shaft), and I am very confident that the Oral-B iO8 electric toothbrush will not suffer from the same or similar problem. Prior to switching to the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush, I had long been using an Oral-B Pro 2 2500 electric toothbrush (which is still highly rated and one of the most affordable today at around £35) and I had no problems with that model either. I don't think I will ever buy a Philips electric toothbrush again, and I will be sticking with Oral-B electric toothbrushes from now on.

I have never had an electric toothbrush before and have pretty good teeth generally. I saw this in the 'Today's Deal' section and decided to get it on the strength of the reviews on here. I'm certainly glad I did and am not sure I will ever be able to go back after using this! Benefits: - no need for an adapter to charge; the travel case has a usb connection that will charge it while in the case - stylish, great colour and easy to hold and move around the mouth - charge stays for ages (I have charged it once and it shows no sign of running out) - lots of programme options although I've only use the 'clean' function - my teeth are noticeably whiter - my mouth feels cleaner and just like after having a scale and polish at the dentist - my gums feel and look healthier - reaches my wisdom teeth which are still coming in and are hard to get to with a manual brush I have to say that I am yet to find anything I dislike about this toothbrush. Worth every penny!

For a long time I have wanted to upgrade to an electric toothbrush, however I have been unable to narrow down the list of potential purchases as it is very uneasy to pick out the best one. First you have to decide if you want electric or Sonic > Braun or Philips... Then you have the many models that fill the price spectrum but all seemingly do the same thing however the more expensive are given the more glossy images. I purchased this when it was on offer on Amazon Prime Day, as a sort of impulse purchase and I am glad I did! I had eventually narrowed my search down to this and a Bluetooth Braun of a similar price. After reading many online studies about how Sonic was much better than electric I decided to buy this. It has been great. It also looks amazing, it is nowhere near as big as the Braun and the aesthetics are so pleasing, they really did a great job with the whole look it has going on. The wireless charging seems like a gimmick however I prefer charging it in its travel case via USB as I don't have a 2 prong bathroom plug and the adapter is stored away in the man drawer and I can never be bothered hunting it down. However, this endeavour would be quite infrequent as the battery lasts quite a while on a twice a day brushing schedule. I'm really pleased with this purchase!

Ok this is THE best toothbrush I’ve ever bought. I used to buy Braun but battery life on those is awful! This is the first Philips and I’ve been using it for 6 months. Firstly, battery life is AMAZING! I am SO surprised how long each charge lasts for as so used to Braun which is awful. The charger itself is very stylish looking also. And had a separate part that the toothbrush sits in so it’s easy to clean. The design of the toothbrush is faultless and all the different functions on it our great. Travel case comes with it is MEGA! Soooo good! I travel lots for work (not right now obvs because off covid19) and the case is amazing, and you can charge via the case too so makes travelling more compact also and has slots inside for two toothbrush heads. They’ve thought of everything! My teeth feel slippery clean after each brush. I’d never go to anything different! 6 months now and battery life is still incredible! Fantastic product!!
