Mercers Furniture 2 Door Bookcase - Pine

Ordered two bookcases on Friday, they were delivered on Sunday. Excellent customer service. Decided to tackle building the first one straight away. The instructions were not brilliant, but not as bad as some reviews had suggested. All the fixings were there, so far so good. I found it easy to build, except that as I was doing it alone, some of the larger pieces were tricky to put together. A couple of the screws hit knots in the wood and could not be properly tightened, even with an electric screwdriver. Overall, it probably took about 4 hours as I did not want to rush it and get it wrong. I would also recommend using wood glue as the dowels are not very long. I am very pleased with the finished product. It is very solid and steady and the wood smells lovely. I will be tackling the second one this weekend - with any luck it will be much quicker this time. I will definitely buy from this supplier again.

This is a really sweet Corona pine cupboard. It's good quality, easy to build, sturdy, value for money, looks pretty, smells nice and is a decent size. I was a bit hesitant about buying this, not a great fan of flat pack furniture but. . .was really surprised with how solid this became once completed. I don't have anything bad to say about it.

I gave this four stars, but three and a half would be more suitable. I ordered two of these. Delivery: Excellent. In this case, Arrow. Automated phone call the day before, with a four hour time slot and the option to change if unsuitable. A call from the delivery team half hour before delivery, and the delivery team were polite and good, offering to take the boxes indoors.Much better than some of the delivery companies. Ease of construction: poor. Looking at the reviews, it seems I'm an exception. These were not the first Corona furniture items I've had from the same source, and previously they were easy to put together. For these bookcases, some of the pre-drilled holes were clearly out. I'm no youngster, so I've had plenty of experience of flat pack stuff. You know that guide holes will be slightly out with flat pack, and by the time of the last parts you are screwing in, things will be a bit tight. When the first things you screw together are tight, you know it's going to be a long day. In this case, the holes for the dowels were out, and some holes were not drilled. Following the existing holes just wasn't possible. So I had to drill my own in some cases. The instructions were so-so, could have been clearer. In all, putting them together was hard going. Finished product: Very good. Despite the construction problems, when these have been overcome, the end product is very good looking. It appears sturdy and likely to last a while, and the smell of pine wood welcomes me into the room. For quality, this easily beats some of the chain store flat packs. It's real wood, looks like it and smells like it. Value for money: excellent. This really looks good for the price. Overall, the end product and delivery weigh in to make this a four star review. The poor construction details may be the exception judging by other reviews, but the ones I received, well I'd hate to have tried to assemble these when I was younger. I've recently helped my daughter and son-in-law with some flat pack, and I think any young people, starting out, would struggle with these if they received them as I have.

For the price this bookcase is fantastic value. It did not take long to put together and it a solid piece of furniture which looks great in our front room. I am using the bottom half for storage and the top shelves to display books and ornaments. It has nice deep shelves which fit all those purposes - fantastic!

Great value furniture. Looks great, fairly easy to build. Holds quite a lot more than I thought it would and shelves are so deep it allows for ornaments as well as books to be displayed.

This bookcase looks amazing. It is very well built and a very strong & sturdy design. It has plenty of room on its shelves for storage and the black finishings give it a perfect look. I bought 2 of these and I am so glad I did. A brilliant piece of furniture!

For the price, its expensive. It is a bit of a faf to put together but in the end it does look good. its not the most sturdy but if youre gentle it will defo hold the books. For 128 i would not buy again, i would value it more like 70, then i would give it a 5 stars,
