Greenland Wax

I had some waxed canvas and had already made one canvas bag with it but doe some reason, even though the fabric looked perfectly fine when the time came to make the second one, for some reason over night it had started to look spotty as per ‘before’ image. I don’t know if it was due to the sunshine through the window of my craft room but I needed to try something to improve it as u guessed it was the wax drying out. I did some research online and this brand came up as recommended so I wanted to give it a go. I wanted wax treatment that was straightforward to apply and this certainly is. It says to use a soft brush to remove dirt and debris but as I was using new fabric, I omitted that step and went straight in to applying the wax. It looks like a bar of near transparent soap and I had expected to get through it quickly. I followed the instructions and applied by rubbing the bar evenly across the fabric (which was a bag at this point) and used my hairdryer to cure it. I loved how the wax seemed to disappear into thr fabric. It took a lot of layers but wow…there was a lovely difference…the colour and the texture of the fabric changed. You have to be very patient and keep applying until you get the result you want. The bag is now waterproof again and a richer colour. Sadly it doesn’t look glassy like the fabric did when purchased but I’m guessing a different method/wax wails have been used to get that effect. For a bag, I am very happy with the result and it would have taken just a couple of hours to get to this stage but I did it in intervals and even the next morning to top it up. There is no odour from it which is good. I have researched but cannot find another way to get the sheen…someone said to buff it up afterward but I’m not sure how to do that. However, absolutely really impressed and it barely used any of the bar of wax at all…still left with plenty. The price of this bar seemed a lot as I had imagined it wouldn’t go far but as I said, there is loads left after doing lots of layers in the bag which for me, makes it great value.

I purchased two G1000 bags and applied the wax which really isn’t that waxy at all. Heated with hair drier and it melts into the fabric. Easy to do and surprisingly clean job. If you have ever rewaxed a Barbour jacket, you will not what a sticky job that is.

Good water resistant. Very useful on combat trousers and jeans, makes them much better quality. Easy to use but hard work. Used it for my tench coat too. Very Good. Best used on cotton fabric. Goes quite a long way for a small bar. Magic! Wax. Very happy that you.

It's wax, used it on my jacket, works. Tastes a bit funny.

Easy to apply. Rub all over the items your going to waterproof and melt with hot hair dryer. Leather or fabric takes the wax easily. Will buy again

Actually appears to work well & does slightly stiffen floppy fabric a little bit more.

nothing wrong with wax but it's just a chore doing it. There must be an easier way!

Das Wachs lässt sich mühelos auftragen und gleichmäßig in den Stoff einarbeiten. Bereits nach dem Einbügeln merkt man, wie Wasser deutlich besser abperlt und die Oberfläche widerstandsfähiger wird. Besonders bei Outdoor-Jacken zeigt sich der Effekt sofort: weniger Feuchtigkeit, weniger Schmutzaufnahme und spürbar mehr Schutz vor Wind. Die Dose hält lange, da man nur wenig Material benötigt. Für die regelmäßige Pflege von G-1000-Gewebe oder anderen Baumwollmischungen ist das eine sehr effektive und nachhaltige Lösung. Fazit: Ein hochwertiges Pflegeprodukt, das Stoffe zuverlässig imprägniert und ihre Lebensdauer verlängert. Für Outdoor-Bekleidung absolut empfehlenswert.

La he usado (aunque no está indicada para ello) para encerar un chamarro de algodón encerado que uso con la moto. Muy bien y fácil de usar, pues no hay que andar fundiendo en baño maría, sino que lo frotas, como si fuera una tiza (se queda blanquecina la superficie). Después le pasas el secador de pelo y funde inmediatamente. ¿Resultados?: echando agua encima, parte se hace bolitas y resbala (parte sigue entrando. Necesita varios encerados para impermeabilizar del todo). Lo importante: viaje de 30 minuto en moto naked (sin protecciones) con una buena tormenta y no ha traspasado al forro ni una gota. A la vuelta, otra media hora, el chamarro se notaba húmedo; pero , más luvia y no traspasó. Además, le da un aspecto más "viejo" al chamarro. Eso sí, se tarda en aplicarla por toda la superficie. Yo estuve cerca de hora y media y tengo que darle otra capa; pero esperaré a que vuelvan las lluvias. ahora toca calor. Respecto a rendimiento, tras una palicación larga, sólo he gastado los 8 bordes de la pastilla. Así como una décima parte del total.

Aot of work but it make your Fkäll Raven clothing more durable and a little more water resistand. Do not expect your pants to get watertight.
