Soda Pop Head

Another Great Book from Julia Cook
I loved this story. I liked the analogy of losing your temper to the soda bottle popping. As always there is a great story, humour and some good tips for parents/teachers. The Activity Book is also useful for ideas on working with young children with anger management issues.

Engaging and helpful
As a special ed teacher I quite like Julia Cook books. They provide an entertaining and thought-provoking story for the students working on different social skills. In the back are now for parents/educators that can help guide conversations with kids too. I also like that there are different activities to be found online that add on to the teaching the book provides (such as Teachers Pay Teachers), both free and paid.

My 4 year old son (who is also a soda pop head) LOVES this book
My son LOVES this book and walks around the house singing the soda pop head song from the book. Really great!

Excellent book!
WOW!! This is one of the best books I read to my kids in a while. My kids have issues with getting angry. This depiction was right on the ball. They so could relate. Funny but serious. Excellent!!!

Great social story on anger
My son struggles with understanding emotions. This book is a great social story that shows how anger impacts your day. It’s broken down so kids can understand and my son thought the little song was funny. My son’s occupational therapist recommended it and it’s been great. Don’t mind the bend in the book, it didn’t arrive that way, we have just read it so many times.I definitely recommend this book especially for kids who are struggling with big emotions and getting upset. Best one we have found on this topic.
