No Wheat Wild Bird Food: Wheat Free Bird Seed for All Seasons, mixed Bird Feed - 12.75kg

I have been feeding our wild birds with mixtures from birdfood.co.uk. The birds loved the food, but the cost was getting extortionate - it s expensive and 2 full feeders was lasting less than 24 hours. There were always birds pecking at it, often 5 or 6 at a time. So how does this compare? It's much cheaper, but it's clean, smells wholesome and is free from moulds and trash as far as I can tell so it's good quality for what it is. The birds certainly noticed the difference however. Consumption went down and the feeders were lasting 4 days between fills. Now, after a couple of weeks, they have got used to it a bit and get through them in about 2 days. So the consumption rate has gone down, and the seed is much cheaper, so this is a much more sustainable option, as far as my pocket is concerned, anyway. If it helps, the birds we are getting on the feeders are blue, great and coal tits, nuthatch, robin (which I was surprised about) and on the ground there are pigeons, hedge and house sparrows and blackbirds. Since changing seed, we have started getting jackdaws (both on the feeders and the ground) and we have seen chaffinches on the ground a couple of times. It's noticeable that the birds now search in the feeder for the seeds they want rather than just eating. It may be possible to improve the palatability by adding some black sunflower, which I will try when I get some in. So, in summary, not the most appetising for the birds, but it will keep them from starving and is very good value. Oh, and I can confirm that I couldn't see any wheat in it.

Expensive (when comparing pirce per Kilo) but super quality, near zero dust and lots of black sunflower seeds (which the sparrows love) and plenty of no waste alternatives for the others. One of the best seed mixes I've tried - our birds love it!

I ordered this to use as “reindeer food” for the kids at Christmas, and it’s absolutely perfect! The delivery was super speedy, and the product arrived in great condition. The mix itself is really good quality — no cheap fillers, just nice clean seeds that both the wild birds and our festive “reindeer” enjoy. The kids love sprinkling it outside on Christmas Eve, and the best part is that the local birds get a treat too — so it’s a total win-win! I’ll definitely be ordering more when we start our Christmas traditions again next year. Highly recommend!

Finding over the last few purchases that the sunflower hearts in the food are very white and dry compared to the other sunflower hearts that I buy and the birds are not keen on eating them leaving them to the last whilst scoffing the other hearts that I buy separately.
