As good as ever

I had been using Jarrow 5000mcg B12 for a number of years and was very happy with them. Unfortunately, when I went to re-order this time, they were out of stock with the supplier that I used. So decided, for expediency, to give these a try. First thing I noticed was that the Best Natural tablets were smaller. However, the main difference was the taste and texture. The Jarrow ones were solid and melted very slowly. They also had a fantastic taste. On the other hand, these had a not very pleasant chalky texture and quickly disintegrated in the mouth. In addition, the cherry flavour was almost non-existent, to the point where it really did just taste like chalk. I suppose the important question is are these as good at replenishing a body that is deficient with B12? At the moment I am a tad skeptical, even though they reportedly have a higher dose, as they just seem inferior to the Jarrow ones in every way. Time will tell though and I will report back.

My doctor recommended that my wife and I take the B12 daily because we are in our 80s and sometimes feel a lack of energy. He was right. They work. We are more energetic.

Just what i needed!

These are a really good buy. I've been taking B-12 supplements for the last 6 or 7 months to give me some relief for numbness in my feet. Have they completely solved the issue, no – but they have stopped the progression and lessened the sensation a good deal. I guess my only issue would be the how slow the tabs are in dissolving as sublingual, but it seems that's a common complaint with most of the others, too. Not a huge problem because the flavoring they use is pleasant. It's really hard to beat the price for this 4 month supply.

A Southern Medical Journal article suggested that some people requiring frequent blood transfusions may become transfusion independent through Vitamin B12 supplementation. I experimented with that claim. I had been enduring long-term severe to moderate anemia. After 10 days of using this brand of B12, my anemia went from severe to mild (which I verified through lab testing), an amazing result which I had not previously been able to attain without a transfusion of two units of blood. B12 is literally life saving for some people with some conditions, myself included. I will call it a miracle. I would give it a galaxy of stars, but Amazon limits extraordinarily pleased purchasers to giving only five stars. This is a better product, the methyl-, compared to the -cyano forms of cobalamin, since it is more readily absorbed, according to some researchers, and this particular brand offers very high potency, which is necessary for some B12-depleted individuals.
