CATANCatan Scenarios: The Helpers Extension Board Game Ages 12 plus 3-4 Players

I'd avoid if possible, the original ones are far better to play with. These are a bit larger, but are quite dark and the text is black on a dark background so much more difficult to read. Rather than the original ones which are black text on a yellow background. Their are an extra 2 helpers with new abilities, the other 10 are the same with a couple having slightly different wordings which affect how they are used. However most have new names, but some of the old helpers names continue to be used. but for different abilities which is very confusing. The alternate rules are bad, and best avoided. Amazon took months to deliver these with delivery dates continually being put back, while a friend who ordered from one of the alternate suppliers listed got his within a week.

It seems like the game is overall more balanced and the games finish with all players close in points instead of only 1 or 2 at the top and the others falling behind. Very worth it and does not ruin the balance.

Bought as a gift to go with some catan games for a teen boy, he was stoked!

This expansion adds a lot to the game! The cards are great quality, seem sturdy, and fit right into the rest of the game pieces. The instructions are also easy to follow.

This is an amazing way to modify an enjoyable game. We love the variety that it adds to game.

I played this with coworkers one of which had the 25th Anniversary edition which came with the helpers. Since I couldnt get ahold of the 25th anniversary I bought the base game, 5-6 player expansion, and these helpers separately. Love it! Also dont let anyone tell you you cannot do something, feel free to change up the rules, my wife and I do all the time to make the base game and helpers work for 2 players.
