Flow rate all over the dial
I have a really old one of these that works well, I just needed one with temperature and this one had it. It arrived nicely packed and in excellent condition, but when I hooked it to the spigot to test it, that's when things started changing. First off, it did not want to screw down tight enough to not leak a good bit. I changed the washer to a thicker, softer washer and it seems to be ok on that issue. Then when I opened the valve on the unit, the gallons per minute dial was all over the place. In the end at the gpm dial, there is the brass cap with a plastic piece with a hole through it, the plastic piece was very loose, I figured that could not be right, so I tried to tighten down the brass cap, but nope, it was as tight as it was going to get. So, I found a o-ring that fit inside that brass cap to push down on the plastic piece to hold it firmly, but that didn't seem to make any difference. I tested this on city water and the pressure is constant, I can cut the valve on and off and get a different reading each time, one time it may show 3 gallons, then 6, or 4 or 7. I tested flow out of the end of this gauge with a stopwatch and a 5-gallon bucket to have an accurate comparison. and get right a 6 gpm every time, although the gauge will read something different each time. The pressure and temperature seem to be fine, but what is most important for me is flow, I need to be sure I have enough to run a pressure washer before starting a job, and this unit can't do that.

Innovative idea
Made more for a hose bib type of connection, I bought it to read the pressure and temp coming out of my Electric hot water heater. It took so doing but with the right parts you can get it to work. I gave it a 3 rating because of the cost and the type of valve being used for gauge that can read temp. If the temp is to hot you may not be able to turn it off to close it quickly.

The Flow Meter did not function
It appeared to be a solid piece of quality construction. However, the flow meter did not function, so I returned th meter.

Works, but limited applications
I like mechanical measurement devices, they tend to be more accurate over time, don't need batteries, and don't suddenly fail on you at the worst possible time. This meter works, and appears to be accurate, but I don't quite understand where one would use it. I understand that water is supposed to flow from the right side (where pressure/temperature sensor is installed) to the right side. The right side works well. It has a hose mount to connect to water source. The valve in the middle, when closed, allows measuring water pressure at the source. The flow meter on the left side has a warning "do not exceed 30 psi". Household water pressure is 50-70 psi, so you cannot connect the outlet to a source that blocks flow of water because the pressure will damage the flow meter. So, you connect this heavy brass device to a garden hose and permanently connect the other, 3/4 NPT end to what? A sprinkler system? The device is a bit heavy to be used for portable testing sprinkler systems during installations, plus you don't really need a temperature gauge for that.Maybe I am missing something.
