Dimplex OKT20 Oakhurst Opti-Myst Electric Stove

This is a truly excellent and very realistic product, just take it out of the box, plug in, fill with water and follow very simple instruction. The fire is remarkably life-like flame and can provide heating too. The fire can be placed anywhere near a mains plug and has a remote controller. By far and away the most realistic flame effect fire, better, it is believed than the more expensive HD (tv) version as it is naturally three dimensional. A great, good looking product all round.

Overall the fire is fantastic, realistic and definitely looks the part. It has added ambience to the room. I had been dissapointed that due to chimney problems I could not fit a woodburner. This has substituted fine and really warms the room up when cold. Bulbs took a little while to get in but everything else was easy and straightforward. Realistic fire effect. I bought a flue elsewhere to finish it off.

This is truely the best alternative to a real stove. I am moving to a new build and it's going to be a while before I have a real stove installed. The flame is very realistic, as is the smoke and the burning embers of the artificial logs. The only thing that its missing is the crackling fire sound. This is easily fixed with my ipod and a tiny speaker to hide behind it. It was very easy to put together and very low maintanence. The heat produced from the fire is great, and the over all look is, quite frankly, amazing. Love it! Had it on all evening and can't stop looking at it. You will not get a better electric stove anywhere.

this met all my expectations,remote control is fantastic, instant heat and 3D flame/smoke effect with a warm orange glow is very atmospheric.Be prepared to refill water reservoir after about 7-8 hrs use, easy to do,but will need to use filtered water.Need to clean parts every 2 weeks or earlier if smoke effect is reduced. I lived in a hard water area and even after filtering the water,limescale could build up,so cleaning very important,this takes about 10 mins and you soon get the hang of it. I did have a problem with a part after a week, I tel Dimplex customer services and they were fantastic,very solution focused ,spoke to an engineer who diagnosed the problem and sent out a free part immediately.Superb after care even though I had purchased off an internet site and product not yet registered with them.Note you cannot have the heater on without the flame/smoke effect, so you have to ensure water in the reservoir.You can have the flame/smoke effect without the heater on. The heater is a little noisy. Overall I am very pleased with this product,Dimplex aftercare second to none.

The fire is very good, flame effect impressive, maintaining the water reservoir every other day with filtered water and brushing the vents a bit of a hassle but worth it if you are physically able.

We were unsure wether to get a real log burner installed or the Dimplex , after numerous conversations with those with real log burners , we decided on the Dimplex and wow , just superb , obviously it’s early days but we love it , all the looks of a real log burner without all the mess . The item itself was easy to set up and was underway with the imitation flames dancing in the fire . The control works well and as said it’s early days but we are so pleased with our purchase . The heat controls are easy to use and it gives out a generous heat . We purchased the imitation flu and as you can see by the picture it looks superb Our only downside was when we opened the packaging the log plate was smashed and was more of a jigsaw , credit to the seller though whom sent out a new one and we had it within 72hours . All in all if you are looking for a log burner that’s not a log burner this is your fire 100% recommended

I bought this to provide heat in one room to cut down gas usage. It works. It looks good. I used to have a wood burning stove but know they are constant work. The absolute bonus with this is a calm dog when there are fireworks going off all around. Each evening since 5/11 he has started to panic as the light grew dim. My fire was set up last night. This evening he was very stressed until we came in to sit with the fire on. He stopped panting and trying to hide and lay down in front of it and went to sleep. What a bonus. I love it. A calm dog is a happy (and warm) owner.

Fairly easy to set up,simple controls and once the thermostat is set there is nothing else to do other than use the remote. Very attractive to look at and it brightens the room. The fan is slightly noisy and,if you use the heater from the afternoon to bed time you must fill the water container daily as it only drives the flame effect for about 10 hours,even on minimum. Clean and it replaced a log/coal burner and we are dust free after 15 years. It remains to be seen what our electricity bill will be...
