Was looking for a torch that could quickly brulee, and this is it! You just have to be very careful because it can easily burn the sugar. I can see other great functions for this on meat. The only parts that I don’t like is the off switch which needs to be manually turned. The old one that I have has an on and off button which is very convenient. The flame also turns off on it’s own sometimes.

Not a Sondiko and the ignition was broken on arrival, the box was bent open too. I don’t know why but after giving it a fifth try the ignition has started to work fine so I changed my review from 1 star to 3 and cancelled my replacement. If it goes back to not working I will probably reset my replacement as it’s a pretty good model when it actually works as its supposed to.

I have 0 complaints with this torch. It heats my quarts perfectly and quickly. Stacks up to the name brand out there that everyone swears by for 60% less.

This is a beast. Super easy to use duel flame. Easy to adjust and ignite and the duel flame will heat up anything extremely fast.

This is a non-bias review on a product promotion.The torch was pretty easy to use. It occurred to me that using the sear on our grill was much easier than using the torch. This is ideal for small scale uses or precision sear such as searing a sushi roll, desserts, or other small size items. Our grill would be used for searing large sized foods such as steaks or whole fishes. The fact that you can change the strength or size of flame to an extent makes it much easier for those sears that require more detailed handling.I would recommend this to those who find themselves saying, "I wish I could just sear this" a few times a week. If you intend on searing things with a torch say once a month, then this might not work. Think of how long a canister for your butane camp stove would last, this is a very similar concept. Some of those butane canisters somehow "leak". You can tell this by tracking how long it burns on a full canister and the total time how long one can burn when used intermittently. For the price, this is pretty good.

My wife wanted to try some dinner and dessert recipes that called for a torch, so I picked this one up to give it a try. Having never used a torch before, I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of operations and the built in safety feature. It comes with a cap that covers the on/off/flame height dial and the ignition button, to prevent accidentally igniting a flame or letting butane escape. We used it last night for a "hacked" honey baked ham recipe for Christmas Eve dinner and the flame stayed at the desired position the entire time. There weren't any sparks or unexpected bursts of flames as I turned the torch sideways to work my way around the ham. I removed one star for the process of filling the torch with butane. It's a simple enough process, you just push the fill valve from the butane canister down onto the receiving valve on the bottom of the torch. But I couldn't tell if I was doing it completely right or if some butane was escaping, and I had no idea when it was full. Other than that piece of trial and error, this torch is priced right and gets the job done.
