Tldr: handy little adapter and does its job. I got a pre-built (I know not good, blah blah, I don't have the patience for it) and eventually the fans gave out. I went to replace the fans and I could not for the life of me figure out how the fans were even running in the first place. All the pieces in this build were just jammed together and somehow it ran. I had no such luck jamming things together, so I got this little adapter. Now my fans run again and the connections are held together by more than a prayer.

Using it in a repurposed case and board that I now use as a NAS. I wanted lots of slow moving fans to keep it cool and quiet. This allowed me max out the fan locations in my case. Nothing special, it just works. That is what you expect from something like this. And this is what it delivers.

Can’t go wrong for the price

The description on this product is wrong. This hub is NOT powered by SATA. This is just a regular fan hub and has no means to power fans at all. Do not buy this if you need this for powering fans as you will be like me and be disappointed.

Although this hub works, the 5V provided by USB isn't enough power for 4 of the 12V computer fans. 1 or 2 of them won't even turn with all 4 hooked up.

I keep a few of these on hand since I build pc’s frequently. Very handy especially if you have a lot of fans, makes cable management much easier and cleaner.

I had bought this as my fans used too much power and I didn't want to stress my motherboard header. Turns out the title for this item was misleading as it was not SATA powered and was just a basic pwm fan splitter hub.
