Easy to install and solid lock
I installed this Yale nightlatch myself at home and the fitting was much easier than expected. With a 60 mm backset it fits standard doors well. The pack comes with the cylinder and screws included, so no extra parts were needed. The mechanism feels sturdy and turns smoothly when locking and unlocking. The ENB/PB cylinder finish also looks neat and high quality. For a DIY installation it was very straightforward, and it gives a strong sense of security

Guy said this was very easy for him to install
A neighbour fitted this on my front door to replace old broken one and he said it was very straightforward. As for me if I didn't know the old one was broken I wouldn't have known the difference. Must admit I was quite wary considering it was front door to me house buy I couldn't recommend this highly enough. Easy for him to fit, inexpensive for me, came really quickly and I'm safe in my own home. Very very impressed

Decent lock
I have used this type of lock before, this is good quality and value, they aren't really difficult to install, just depends on your DIY skills and the door you are fitting it to, sometimes it might take a bit of time

I thought it would be a straight swap , but not quite so
The lock itself is of good quality and was easy to fit though , not quite a straight swap as I had to chisel out some additional wood so that it correctly fitted. The previous lock was an ERA, all the holes lined up ok but the metal was a bit thicker. Now that it is all installed and tested all is well; just expect to have to do some tweaking if you have a different make lock you are replacing. I am sure this lock will last as long as the other one (15 years)

Exact fit for a very old lock on a very old door replacement. The original was a bit heavier than the new one, but the new one has the exact shape and screw holes. The screws for the lock cylinder were a little long for my door so I had to find 2 screws in the basement slightly shorter that would fit. I an very happy that it fit my door.

Good quality locks, durabuility, open and close while it still locks, but have your key alway with you when you need to come in use key to open, after you go in it still locks unless you switch the unlock button it will stay unlock just push the door or gate to come in or out clever lock design. Recommend, excellent for town home patio gate locks.

I bought a night latch at a big box store and a couple of years later the latch knob simply broke off in my hand for no particular reason. I've had this Yale lock for about 7 years and it seems a lot sturdier. As for getting extra keys made - it's true that the y42a key blank is hard to find, though bluedogkeys.com has them. They do not sell to the general public though and you'd have to get it through a locksmith. After looking into all this, I went to the local Ace hardware store and they made me a "compatible" key. Works fine! The key blank is a Hillman 71. They have a key machine which automatically determines the blank and cuts the key.
