Excellent wheel that produces very little friction heat and does an excellent job sharpening laghevturning tools.

Arbor was tight but a little clean up and a touch of grease did the trick

I wanted to test out a CBN wheel for sharpening tools, and this one was up for the job. While the 320 grit is better for sharpening, rather than shaping, it still works wonders. Is there a place still for regular grinding wheels, sure, but these CBN wheels last longer, keep things cooler, and overall outperform most grinding wheels.

This is not for Carbide at all. Just for steel and softer metals. It doesn't gum up like some abrasive disks. I had to locate some "Self-Aligning Spherical Washers" for my grinder. It's the best way to center this, as you obviously can't use grinder dressing tools. I do have an 8" grinder, but this 6" can fit with an add-on tool rest to move tools to grind closer to the wheel. 320 grit in a CBN wheel is pretty aggressive and very usable for many tasks. These is some room on the edge of the CBN to do some vertical grinding if needed. This is very high-quality and significant value if you can use a CBN wheel.

Exactly as advertised and works well on lath tools

Fitted to a 6 inch grinding wheel for sharpening hard cryogenic hss wood turning gouges. Produces an extremely good finish in a far quicker time than a whetstone wheel. Excellent for reshaping tools Beware however only the lightest of touches is required when applying pressure Complete the process with a 600 grit cbn or whetstone Recommended

Well balanced wheel means my grinder runs almost silently now. Sharpness of tools is amazing and is acheived very quickly. Just no comparison with stone wheel.
