Real money saver.
This little pump is a real value. I used it to pump concrete repair cement into the cracks in a retaining/seawall this winter when the lake was down. It's simple, easy to use and effective. Just remember to mix the cement just a little thinner than you normally would, try to keep the pump at an angle when you draw the cement into the tube, and you may want to spray a little WD40 or other penetrating oil into the tube around the the rubber ring just to make it a little easier to push and pull. Wash it thoroughly after each use. It worked much better then I had expected!

Lighter than a bag and you have Pinpoint Accuracy in those hard-to-reach areas
It's easier to load the mortar in the gun (with a sucking motion) and easier to get to those areas that are hard to reach with a mortar bag. Its lighter than a mortar bag but it doesn't have the volume a mortar bag has. With a mortar bag your required to keep twisted pressure on the bag to keep the mortar flowing and the tip of the bag is flexible and difficult to keep pointed in the grouted line. With this grout gun the nozzle is hard plastic and comes in 4 different nozzle types. Once the gun has been primmed with mortar you can place the nozzle directly where you want it while applying rear pressure. I felt confident that I was applying enough mortar to get it all the way back to the wall and filling the grout line without air pocket voids and I was able to control the amount coming out as to not waist mortar from spilling out because the nozzle stayed where you want it. The plunger has a double type of piston and comes greased to help seal the tube and makes priming and applying the mortar efficiently. Both ends of the plastic tube have threaded ends that allow for easy install and removal of the nozzle and the piston rod for cleaning. I've used the gun with 10 each 80-pound bags and the treads are not damaged, and the inside of the tub is not scored. I except to continue to be able to use it for several more project without having to replace I did not give it a 5 star because it requires refilling more often than a grout bag.

The product does not work
The quality of the product is very basic. It actually looks like a toy. This product could not even work with sand concrete mixture. The mixture was very thin. When I pulled the pump handle I did not get any mixture into the tube!. I tried different heads with the same result. I am returning it.

works well, with softer more "wet" mixes
I bought this to help with badly deteriorated mortar on a 90 year old brick stoop .. The idea being I can inject more mortar this way, than using a tuck method. This worked well, I used a rapid set mixture "softer" texture so to able to squeeze through the nozzles. It's a cheap method, that requires "grease" for plunger side that pushes. Also the handle is flimsy. But it worked. I got in close to 50 lbs of mortar/mixture with this. My mortar mixture best matched the original color so I used a basecoat EIFS acrylic, (light grey) mason sand (tan) and rapid set (Light Tan) a pre mix mortar. The color is an off white like the old work and once pointed mortar joints sometime ago. So it took a couple days by chipping out old work, washing out the large cavities of missing mortar. I was really surprised how bad the old stoop was, and pondered on how some of the bricks remained in place , while others had fallen out. I found it useful enough to recommend this tool, but it is not a tool that lasts. After 5 or so "shots" the plunger which is a rubber greased seal showed wear and tear. There are few tricks: Load it plunger all the out, and mix soft not watery but soft enough to slide easily, as the rapid set will stiffen in about 5 minutes, into barrel, place on wide tip or round that fits for the application and go don't worry about overflow or anything like that, you will know when to move from point to point on the objective. OK just get the mortar in place. I used a tuck tool to push deep into the larger gaps and spaces of the brick work and reapplied in next round. I found working quickly helps get good results. and the tool needs a greasing before each use, I used a very light spray oil. Have fun it saved me a huge amount time.

Does the trick
I bought this to add more thinset mortar around the base of a whirlpool tub I installed. I needed it to reach several feet away, so I took one of the round nozzles to a local hardware and bought 2 feet of a clear tubing that fit snugly on the nozzle. Turns out the longest I was able to get the mortar through was about a foot, and I mixed it on the thin side. It did the trick and I was able to fill all the gaps. Good product, holds a fair amount of mortar. Would buy other products from this manufacturer.

Perfect for repointing brick
I tried a grout bag my first time repointing bricks. I’m a big guy with big hands, but I couldn’t get the grout bag to work. I gave this a try. Holy cow, this makes it so much easier. Pushing instead of squeezing is 100x better. Using it as a two person system with one of these works, but you do refill quite often. We bought a second one, and two people work to fill one while I’m pointing with the other. It’s almost a nonstop action. If you have a lot of pointing to do, buy two. You do need a funnel that will fit inside, and you may mix the mortar a bit thinner, but this is the best way to go unless you want to spend several hundred on a cordless drill setup that pushes it out. I’ve done 400 square feet using a couple of the tips, and they do wear a little, but I think they’ll finish my job before I’d have to worry about it. It’s a lot bigger than it looks in the picture. Enjoy!

Unsatisfied
Not what was indicated. More industrial size instead of for home use. RETURNED.

Works well
Works well and makes a crappy job easier, but has room for improvement. I'd pay a few dollars more for a funnel to help with loading it and nozzle tip covers to keep the mortar from leaking out while loading. I found it worked best to mix small batches and do two injections then disassemble and fully clean/wash all parts before loading again. This kept the nozzles and threads from clogging.

Es un buen producto, funciona para lo requerido en la reoaracion, solo cabe destacar que seria una mejora el poner los empaques para las demás puntad y por lo menos una refacción del empaque embolo.

I loaded this with the tip off. Sucking mortar sucked. It didn't work for me and ended filling joints by hand trowel. Mix may have been too thick. don't waist your time and money.

For the price I did get my money’s worth for this tool but would need to buy a new one for each job. The thread on the nozzle wear out by being sanded down by the ground/mortar and it eventually starts slipping off. Other than than that it works ok.
