First time starting plants from seeds(in soil blocks) so this is a learning experience for sure. I purchased a Mars SP150 roughly a year ago that I had not been able to use until now. I profess I'm probably using it incorrectly. My tomatoes became leggy as I had the light too far away & I potted up due to the leggy seedlings. The SP150 puts off quite a bit of heat. I turned to the VG80 and things are looking great. Well packaged, well made, and you can really see the thought put into this product. Easy to assemble, and I love how the lights utilize a wire and screw type clamp to adjust height. So much nicer than chains. Unscrew the clamp, move the wire, tighten down the screw and you are done. Plants immediately perked up, and are growing on well. Heat is not an issue with these lights. Adding - 50,000 light life. Others are 30,000 or less.

The Marshydro VG80 LED growlight is phenomenal. This light is very easy to mount and put together. The lights are bright and do very well for my nepenthes seeds which have germinated quickly and have gained size rapidly and continue to do so. I highly suggest this growlight for any grower whether its use is for plants or to germinate seeds.

I’ve bought 4 sets of lights from this vendor. They work great. They are packed so well there is no way they could break in transit. Kudos to whomever engineered the packaging. Everything you need to install them is in the box. My seedlings (herbs, kale, arugula, lettuces and basil) are growing. The lights are bright but don’t put out a lot a heat.

The good. The lights work well, produce very little heat, and I had no problem daisy chaining them together. The bad. The cables are a lot messier looking than they look in the photos. For starters, they are much longer than shown. Great if you want the lights spread apart but unwieldy when the lights are close together. Also, whether you chain multiple lights together or even just run one, you’ll always have a trailing cable just hanging off the end. Also, I don't understand why they package a timer with it. Just extra trash that got thrown out, I have timers already.

Very easy to install. Very bright! In photo top is 2 T5 bulbs and below are the news ones. Huge difference. Will be buying more of them.

I've had three of these lights stop working after about two years of use. Otherwise they are good, but lights should last more than two years. Given that three of them went out (out of about 24 I have) it is not a fluke and the product needs to be improved. That being said, the plants seem to do well with the light, they don't get too hot, and the light has a nice spectrum that is comfortable to work in. The lights were not exposed to any extreme temperature or moisture that would make them stop working.

Very well packed and came with explicit directions that were very easy to follow. Extremely easy to set up. Been using them for starting plants and it works excellent. lightweight and easy to work with. They also look really good. For the money, these lights will treat you right.

These are supplemental lighting, the listing isn't very clear but it's 80w total for both lights (the VG-80/VG-80r) I have the VG-80r, and for some reason MarsHydro completely cheaped out on the hanging mechanisms. Included are what looks to be some shoelaces, zip ties and some plastic hooks that doesn't fit on a tent with bigger than 16mm poles. MarsHydro expects you to tie your expensive lights by a knot. I cannot even clip on a standard yoyo-hanger because only the VG-80 comes with clips to attach to hangers, there's really no good way to hang them indepently. I'm probably going to have to DIY some hanging loops so I can attach them onto yoyo hangers. I don't feel I'm being unreasonable in expecting to be able to hang lights. The light itself feels very high quality, the housing feels solid, the plastic diffuser doesn't scratch easy like T8 led tubes, and the light output is extremely bright, but cheaping out on absolutely everything else makes me feel ripped off paying so much for supplemental lights. I'm highly critical but im a huge MarsHydro fanboy, love their products.
