Follow Up: Sadly after trying these Christmas and having bought 3 being Apricot, Cherry and Strawberry. They are not what they were. 😔 Obviously not the seller's fault. My Mother and I used to always buy these on the boat home from France when we had been off on one of our many times away together for a break. They used to be strong on the alcohol taste. Now although the marzipan in them is really nice, there is no such taste and even the fruit, such as the cherry, apricot and strawberry are now also non existent. The chocolate is also good. It isn't rubbish chocolate. I lost my Mum, a few years back now so hadn't had them for a while. So finding as they are now were a disappointment for me. Those that have bought these from years back in the past will know what I mean, to others buying them recently will probably find them absolutely delicious. I am not saying that they are bad, they aren't and would make a great gift for someone. They taste really nice. But with the change for me, I won't be buying them again ................................................................................................................................................................................................. Original review. These are really nice. I haven't had them for a few years now, but I first discovered them many years ago coming home on a boat from France. The last time I tried these was about 5 maybe 6 years back and they hadn't changed from when I bought them for the very first time. Hoping that is still the case with these as I have bought my self three different flavours for over Christmas. One on it's own I think is very substantial in it's size or it was hoping these are the same. On that prospect Recommended.

So dark & delicious.
I always loved Anthon Berg's chocolates but You no longer see them in the shops. It has to be said that these black cherries in rum with marzipan were always My favourites too. The marzipan is quite moist & cakey & not overpoweringly sweet. The chocolate cracks like an easter egg & is just enough, it doesn't get in the way of enjoying the filling like in some brands. A thick layer of black cherry fruit & rum goodness, formed into a sort of jelly with obvious real fruit, which can only be described as being like a fresh, real fruit, grownup, decadent & boozy version of the jaffa layer in a jaffa cake. These go down like jaffa cakes too. One is never enough & They really taste like Christmas. A great all year round indulgence too. Love these. The black cherries being soaked in rum instead of the usual Morello Cherries in Kersch also makes them slightly less sweet & more tart & refreshing than the brandy or Kersch varieties. Nice. Very nice. I bought these & the Ferrero Mon Cheri & enjoyed the contrast. I also ate them all Myself & didn't feel guilty
