The Unforgettable Logan Foster #1

My Favorite Book!
It's my favorite book... that's I've ever written and published. But I'm slightly biased. Thanks to anyone who reading this and considering buying the book. The fact that so many young readers (and older ones) have said Logan's voice and story have spoken to them means the world to me.

Super Fun story for kids of all ages!
The Unforgettable Logan Foster is a fun, exciting read with a lot of heart. Readers that love superheroes (or just well-written, action-packed stories) will take instantly to Logan - he may not have traditional super-powers, but what makes him different is his power. You'll want to keep reading chapter after chapter to see what happens. Highly recommend for the young reader (or not so young reader) in your life!

Perfect for children in grades 4-7 and their adults!
The Unforgettable Logan Foster is a book that is captivating enough to keep a 5th grader up beyond bedtime and an adult committing to "just one more page" until she has read it in one sitting. I don't have kids, but if I did, I would move this to the top of my list of family read aloud stories. I plan to share it with my students next week!Capturing tweens and teens in a way that is authentic and believable is a delicate craft. Shawn Peters has mastered it! Logan's voice and the voices of the people in his life, young and old, make you feel like you are tumbling through the world right along side them as they navigate the foster care system, bullying, superhuman feats and diabolical enemies. The story helps us see that the the fights we fight in the real world are not so different from those fought by the greatest superheroes. In fact, Logan, his friends, and his foster parents Margie and Gil, prove that the being yourself and helping others, even if some people don't "get you" is the real definition of being a hero. Go out and get this book for your children, your nieces and nephews, your students, and any folks in your world who need to be reminded that they are heroes just by being themselves. Sometimes the least likely person is most suited to saving the world, and sometimes we need a book like Logan Foster to remind us of our own superpowers.

a truly fresh take on the superhero genre
Reading THE UNFORGETTABLE LOGAN FOSTER was a SUPER fun time—pun intended (you'll know why when you meet Logan's foster dad). I really enjoyed seeing the world through Logan's very unique point of view—and as a narrative device, because of his uncanny encyclopedic memory, the first-person (and sometimes second-person) telling gave the best of everything for the story to take hold—all the intimacy that comes with those perspectives, along with the insights and details typically reserved for a close, third-person view. But nothing about this story is typical. And it really made for a great adventure that, even in the well-trod realm of superheroes, felt completely original. The author's fandom of the genre really comes through on the page, with great little touches that give it a truly fresh take. I also appreciated the message around how we frame our differences, and what qualifies as a strength, or even a super power. Highly recommend for any young reader who's ever experiences a socially awkward moment—or, in other words, all of us.

Superhero Without A Cape
It's important to see oneself as the hero of one's own story - and Logan Foster, an orphan who's always felt alone and left out, finds his own super power in this action and humor filled mid-grade book. Logan doesn't have much hope that his new foster placement will work out-- the last several didn't, partly due to his frank personality, his bookish nature and his eiditic memory and recitation of facts. When his new fosters turn out to be real life superheros, Logan is thrown into a wild and wooly interplanetary battle between good and evil. There's so much to love about about Logan, and so much about him young readers and their parents will recognize. As can be seen on the spectacularly illustrated cover, he's just a kid, trying to enjoy an afternoon at the movies - until he's drawn into the Superhero Metaverse.I particularly liked how Logan navigates his encounter with bullies and his friendship with his neighbor Elena. The illustrations throughout the book add an extra level of excitement to the narrative. I hear another Logan adventure will be coming soon. I'm in.Kids will love this book. AND so will parents. And that is a fact.

Had high expectations, this exceeded them
The Characters in Logan Foster are memorable and relatable. The action is tense and exciting. Shawn Peters brings a super new world into existence in the Unforgettable Logan Foster. Matt Braver does a fantastic job with giving that world life. Highly recommend this story, and this audiobook. I cannot wait for the next one!

Most creatively written book for kids.
The author has imaginatively combined themes in this story. It is part insight into the mind of a child with autism and part superhero fantasy. I wish this book had been written when my son was little. He would have loved it. I may still pass it on to him to read as an adult!
