I really like this lip elixir and use it at night for my dry lips. I gave it 4 stars due to the price.

It is hard to beat Sarah Happ for lip treatments and this is a nice travel size option.

The Lip Elixir by Sara Happ is a lightly rose scented lip oil treatment (not a balm) in a tube with a convenient rollerball applicator. This has “flavor” as scent but I don’t notice any taste. This oil isn’t thick, goopy or sticky and doesn’t feel like a gloss. I’ve used lip oils before and they annoy me when they can feel like I have greasy food on my lips I want to wipe off. But I only need a thin layer of this Happ oil, and it feels lightweight, comfortable and nonirritating. Most soaks into my lips within about 15 minutes, but it leaves a light layer that feels silky and imparts shine to my lips. While this oil adds moisture and shine worn alone, I like it best for layering under a second lip product as my lips get an added boost of hydration and antioxidants. This is anti aging and has beneficial ingredients, such as linoleic acid, Rice Bran Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, squalane, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, hyaluronic acid and more. So I apply this oil, wait about 15 minutes, and I apply lipstick (or other lip color) during the day or love layering it with The Dream Slip at night. My lips feel extra hydrated, smooth, soft and comfortable. Love it. 5 stars. Made in USA.

I was so excited to try this product because it seems this brand has pretty good reviews overall and I’m so disappointed in this product. I’ve never received less moisture from something I put on my lips to moisturize them. I’m so confused by this. I’ve used it a bunch trying for results and it does nothing but leave a little oil sheen over my lips. Nothing seems to change when I put it on. I end up having to use a lip balm a bit after because it doesn’t work at all. All it does is delay the moisture because I don’t want to immediately use another thing and get the taste of this on that. Speaking of taste, this is grossly rosey. I’m not sure I’ve ever even given anything 1 star before but this is an EXPENSIVE lip moisturizer and you’d be better off using almost anything else. I’m completely shocked by how little this worked. It’s like they didn’t test it or something?? I don’t think it absorbs at all. I even had my husband try it in case somehow my lips just interacted strangely with it and it didn’t do anything for him either. A really unpleasant, useless experience.

It's the middle of winter and I live in the Midwest We just had an artic air mass come through with temperatures in the single digits and subzero windchills, not to mention fifty mile an hour winds. This lasted for several days and during that time, the heat in my house was running constantly. Between the freezing air outside and the dry heated air inside, my skin suffered terribly. My lips were so chapped they were painful. I used this lip oil during the day whenever I felt I needed it, and at night I would put a layer of this oil on my lips and cover it with petrolatum jelly. After the first night, my lips felt so much better. Within three days my lips were back to normal. The oil is easy to apply with the rollerball tube and it is not wet or sticky on the lips. My lips feel soft and supple when I apply the oil and I do not notice any smell or taste from it. I have tried so many other lip products like lip balms and lip masks that have not worked for me, so I am really glad to have found this product and would recommend it.

This lip gloss does soften and hydrate the lips. Because the product is oil-based, I always end up with some inside my mouth or on my tongue. I don’t care for how it tastes, mainly because it doesn’t seem natural. It has an artificial taste, which might be from the “Flavor” added to the ingredients. I do really like the applicator. The rose quartz ball is a nice little gentle massage each time I reapply. The texture of the product is not sticky; it feels smooth and oil-based. The list of ingredients is: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Oleic/Linoleic/Linolenic Polyglycerides, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Squalane, Ethylhexyl Palmitate. Contains 1% or less of each of the following: Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Flavor, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Trihydroxystearin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder.

This is a lip balm that lives up to the name. I really liked the package design - the lip balm I am currently using is a squeeze tube, so your finger has to touch the lip balm during application (I like that better than stick designs, which in my experience leave little crumbles over your lip). But this rollerball applicator design is amazing! As far as the lip balm itself, it is quite effective. I applied it at night before going to sleep and my lips still felt very moisturized when I woke up. There is no scent. It does not feel greasy, just moisturizing. I tried to look at the ingredients list but it was somewhat covered up by the bar code sticker on my box - I can see avocado oil and apricot kernel oil on the list. It will be up to each individual person as to whether this product is worth the price; it is over double what I pay for my current lip balm with shea butter. But also importantly, this product is made in the USA.
