This is by far the nicest axe I've ever owned and used: It's the perfect weight and length for me and the work I'm doing with it. Plus it's really sharp; I find myself taking less strokes while using this thing and also not hitting the neck of the axe on the wood, like usual. I think that's because it's just a perfect fit for me: I'm a housewife with average height (5'6") and build/arm length. I really like the way the handle feels it really does absorb shock when you hit a piece of wood really hard with it. I also appreciate the bright yellow and blue colors. It's easy to find if you take a break and leave it leaning up against the woodpile or a tree. Nobody's touching my new Estwing! You get your money's worth on this one. I'm I sure will last me the rest of my life. Highly recommended!

The hatchet itself is very well made, with good steel in the head, but I wish it came with a sheath I could feel comfortable carrying it on my belt. The hatchet matches the description, and good sheaths for it are easy to find, I just wish it came with one made for it. Maybe it was an option I didn't see, but IMO that was the only thing lacking. Even in a pack, it should have a good sheath to protect whatever it is packed with, because if you want to, you can really get it sharp. Handle is comfortable in use, and it works well, seems to hold an edge well.

solid built hatchet, feels good in hand, nicely weighted.

This axe is cool looking and works exactly as I knew it wood (would). This axe works good also because I know how to use an axe. I wrapped a third of the handle with camo goon tape so it looks extra spiffy and has good grip.

I bought this axe specifically based on the appeal of American manufacture and Estwing quality in other products. The axe is manufactured in India! The handle is sheathed in a soft polymer sleeve that has minimal impact resistance. After 6 swings into bamboo, the sleeve was torn and punctured enough to recognize it serves no real purpose and will not protect the fiberglass handle. I returned it the same day. Thankfully, Amazon lived up to their usual standards and refunded the cost. Bought an 1844 Helko Werk German axe, also offered by Amazon and it’s great!

Good axe

Name brand, real good price cheaper then used. Weight is nice for continuous used. The quality is super good compared to the no name brands. The edge is nice and flat and sharp. This is a good deal

¡Sin duda es una excelente hacha! Más hermosa en la realidad que en las fotos, Llegó un poco desafilada (supongo que así la envían por seguridad), pero nada que no se pueda resolver rápidamente con una piedra de afilado. Amazón USA genial como siempre, me la envió muy rápido y perfectamente embalada (nota las ralladuras que se le ven se las hice yo porque no me pude resistir a probarla inmediatamente) me gustó mucho estoy muy contento y la recomiendo totalmente.
