Initially, I was skeptical when I purchased this knife. Some owners have reported issues with the assisted opening features of the knife, but I have carried this knife every day for almost a year, owning it for over a year and it has yet to fail. Some claimed the assisted opening mechanism was plastic (Some revisions may be, I am not certain) however mine was steel, and there are no plastic body pieces to my knowledge on the knife I own. This knife has worn considerably since I first purchased it. Cosmetically, the knife's paint has worn, but otherwise the knife is perfectly functional. For a $30 knife, I find it entirely acceptable for the finish to wear, given the nature of carry. Even for a more expensive knife. The blade is decent quality 4034 Steel. Regular sharpening has kept this knife great even with the abuse I have put it through. Size is convenient, but handle is relatively small (Good to some, as it is to me, but should be noted for handling. It is also notable that this was purchased in my case for the 2.9" blade - the limit on knives state level in Ohio is 3", and I was concerned about the size being small, but in practice it appears to be a good balance of length. I took my pocket clip off due to carry in the pocket with my phone where it was causing issues. It's strong, held in by torx screws. Note that the maximum gap is not terribly wide, but it could be worn on small boots. The clip is oriented so the knife is down. This allows for one motion opening. The opening mechanism is smooth and fast, for assisted opening style overall. Will probably buy another next month or so, just to refresh.

Perfect size for EDC

I was looking for an EDC knife that was easy to carry. It's a great knife, perfect size and well made. Very sharp right out of the box. My only issue is that it's hard for me to deploy the SS. I've had several other S&W SS knives which were a bit easier. I keep trying to break it in but still struggle, I may have to gift it. Other than that, I definitely recommend it. Edit: after oiling it some and continuing to play with it, the SS has gotten easier. Love my knife!

I like the quality of the knife. It functions as intended by the maker . Snaps open easily . I like a slightly longer blade and handle but I knew that when I bought it .I find it will be acceptable as a smaller pocket knife in spite of being smaller than I generally purchase .

Let me start by saying this is the best knife I've ever owned. Right out of the box it is incredibly sharp more so than I expected. But lets not fool yourself you came here because of the look of the blade... And yes it looks great. The problem is the paint chips right as it went in my pocket and it has continued to chip throughout the 2 months I've had it.
