Very pleased with this purchase and an excellent value for the cost. Pieces were well packed with only a few large pieces of styrofoam, not the little bits I'd been worried about. I had opened box outside, just in case. Not sure how long assembly took -- am guessing 45 minutes-- but I was able to assemble this on my own (75 yr old grandma). The directions are ok -- I suggest looking carefully at the illustrations before you begin, especially the number and location of holes shown, to insure you're working with the correct piece. There were a few challenging moments holding them as I screwed pieces together(need a Phillips screwdriver) but overall assembly went quite easily. All the holes lined up! After retightening the screws as the final step, the unit is very sturdy. Little brown covers are included to hide all the screw heads. The wood-tone pieces had no scratches or flaws and look very attractive. Something I didn't do and wish I had: think ahead to your needs regarding the spacing of the shelves. Two of them can be adjusted but this clearly is best done as the unit is first being assembled. Afterward, as far as I can tell, it will mean almost taking the whole thing apart.

I've been using this thing for about three months. It's just the right size for the little space I have along the wall next to my bed.It's decent quality for the price. It's light, but not flimsy. I wouldn't sit on it, but it holds my night reading material and my Yogasleep dohm white noise maker at the perfect height -- which, for me -- is just a little over ear height when I'm laying in bed. [This may be irrelevant to you, but who knows? If external noises are bothering you at night, I recommend trying it. It creates a noise floor that sort of masks external sounds that might otherwise catch your attention while sleeping -- or, especially, when trying to GET to sleep.]Anyway, I'm happy with this little shelf. I think it looks great. The slatted design looks rustic, like a vegetable shipping crate turned on end. It was easy to assemble. The instructions were clear.

Like: nice little table and the perfect size to fit under my bar. It is sturdy after assembly. Arrived in tact with no flaws (I bought 2).Dislike: None of parts are identified. The top/bottoms are different from the middle shelves. But the hardest part is figuring out where the shelves fit into the two back uprights. NONE OF THIS IS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS. You gets a parts blowout and nothing is labled. Below really some hints.First: it is not obvious but the shelves can be put in different places. So, there are about twice as many holes as you need.Countersunk holes face out on all 4 uprights(there are covers for them so they not show). Also, the 4 back pieces do not support the shelves, they keep thing from sliding off the back of the shelf.Third. The dowels are tight but they will go in as the screws tighten. It is quite sturdy when complete. Also, the inside uprights will have holes showing but not obvious. These are if you wanted to adjust shelf placement.Bottom line, I spent an hour trying to figure this out and at age 65, have done hundreds of assemblies. This was not obvious to me. A few others have their instructions in reviews and they helped me. When properly assembled, it is a sturdy unit ... but it's related easy to mess up the first two baxk uprights (countersunk out always!).Lastly, I put everything together with loose screws until I was sure all fit properly. Many people talked about misaligned screws. I found all to be perfect with patience.Good luck!

I needed a bookcase to store reference books with other odds and ends between two closet doors. So I ordered the wide shelf. First of all, when open the box I was impressed, I've ordered so much furniture online and it's absolute torture getting things out of the box. Usually, there's styrofoam everywhere and the box is ripped to shreds. This box was was secure, but easy to open and see everything there. It impressed me immediately. It fit perfectly in the box and was well protected. Probably not an important detail to most people, but I hate the headache of dealing with large cumbersome boxes and packing material. There was absolutely no mess to clean up after assembly. The box folded in half easily to fit in the recycling bin, and the styrofoam didn't make a mess everywhere.On to the bookcase, I wasn't expecting much for 30 bucks. The instructions were clear with easy to follow diagrams. The screws were all there, and again, amazingly packaged and easy to open. They even separate the screws between two bags, so you won't have 50 some screws rolling around on the floor. It took me an hour to put together with a simple screwdriver. It probably would have taken me less time, but I took a short tea break.The end result is a beautiful bookcase. At this price range, I was expecting twisting tubes, no tools assembly type of deal. The photos are perfect representations of what you get. It's sturdy too. I only have books on the top shelf and yoga blocks and accessories on the other two shelves. But I know I could load this baby up with more weight if I wanted. The company really impressed me with an affordable, beautiful product that came smartly packed for my benefit. I will definitely purchase more from them in the future.I didn't receive anything for this review.
