Beautiful book
Absolutely gorgeous notebook. Never seen one quite this pretty. Have to practice my calligraphy before I write in it. Fantastic price, too.

Stunning Masterpieces
I bought two of these notebooks because I (or rather, my inherent yet dormant magpie gene) was enchanted by what I though was a shiny, heavily embossed gold pattern on the cover. Sadly I was mistaken. Very little, if any gold to be had, however, nowhere in the description does it refer to the said gold, so the fault is mine entirely. What I will highlight strongly - and this refers to the majority of these breathtaking notebooks is that the Amazon price shown at £10.80+ is £2.00 more than the £8.80 being charged by the manufacturer listed in the other offers tab - so do check prices! So to the notebook. After my initial disappointment about the lack of gold - I was actually very deeply amazed at the high and excellent quality of the notebook. It is larger, quite beautiful and funtionally so, than A5, in fact a little shorter in length than A4 and at 192 pages, adequate for a lot of uses. The pages are a soft cream, lightly lined so not obtrusive and silky smooth. I use fountain pens exclusively and inks from around the world (some of which can misbehave quite significantly!) yet I have experienced no problems at all, no bleed/ show through, smudging or indeed smearing - however I have had to learn a little patience in allowing the ink to dry etc. The cream makes most colours even more vibrant, oranges, blues, greens and browns come alive and the beautiful and sacred art of writing becomes even more precious and delicious. As another reviewer has said, one feels fearful about writing in these masterpieces - but by the very act of being written in, these beautiful artworks fulfill their destiny in holding your most precious thoughts. What a legacy to leave, and what a lovely gift to self! I have just ordered my seventh notebook and I cannot wait till it arrives as the description stated 'metallic accents in red, copper and blue' - wow. Treat yourselves to at least one this lifetime! Be Blessed.

Very lovely journal
Gold-foil edged pages, gold book mark ribbon, sewn spine, 190mm (w) x 230mm (h) = Much bigger than A5. Deeply embossed pattern cover (same both front and back) from the 14th Century Catalan Atlas by Abraham Cresques. Multi jewel tone and gold embossed coated paper cover . Nice, simpler but matching spine decor. 192 faint lined blank pages of heavy archival (acid free) paper. A blank gold card-weight first and last page. 1 title page simply 'Journal' with verso a 3 line summary of Peter Pauper's 1928 start-up. This is the same size as the PP Bordeaux Journal, bigger and more pages than others in the series. Less leathery, because of the density of the splendid printed pattern.Lovely, smart and tasteful. A mini-work of art from all angles, done with care and pride. A pleasure to look at and and to hold. Peter Pauper's journals certainly beat Paperblanks equivalent for quality and value by a wide margin.RECOMMENDED

Great quality. Bought as a present and my daughter loved it.
Had read the reviews and had small reservation about sticker on the back cover leaving a mark. However it came off no problem

I am addicted to buying these stunning journals.
I've raved about these Peter Pauper journals before, but I'm not bored of doing so yet! They're simply stunning. The cover designs, the gold-edged pages, the paper quality, the bookmark ribbon... all of these features combine to make this a really special, high quality notebook. The spine design means that it can lay almost flat when open, without compromising the binding at all. The leaves are thick, good quality and will take fountain pen, biro, pencil and felt tips with ease, giving a lovely smooth finish. The pages are lined, but otherwise blank. On the back cover is a high quality gold-coloured sticker with black writing, giving some details of the cover design. This can be easily removed without leaving a mark, but I chose to leave mine in place. These make superb gifts, and there's a big range of cover designs available. Highly recommended.
