Looks about as squirrel-proof as its possible to get
I've been fighting a losing battle to keep squirrels away from the bird seed in the feeders - the problem is that squirrels are quite bright and have found ways around the other so-called squirrel proof feeders I've tried. As far as I can see and after some weeks of use, this feeder really does keep the squirrels away - I can's see how they defeat the spring mechanism which lowers a barrier when they put their weight on the perches. The mechanism can apparently be fine-tuned to stop heavier birds from feeding too, though I don't have this problem. The feeder looks well-made (and so it should be for the price) and its straightforward to clean. All in all it's worth the money to me - song birds are feeding from it regularly and squirrels no longer even try to get the seed.

They are Squirrel proof in my garden !
I have several of these feeders around the garden and the squirrels can not get into them so long as you don't have them near a handy places where the squirrel could reach out to them. They are excellent feeders and the birds love them. They do get messy sometimes so need cleaning from time to time.I fill them with sunflower hearts which the birds love particularly Goldfinches ! My only negative about these feeders are that they are expensive but they do last !!

Squirrel proof
We bought one of these 7 years ago because the squirrels were eating the grain. It worked a treat but my dear wife got carried away with cleaning it and unfortunately broke it.We looked around to see what was available as a replacement but didn't find anything that even came close re a quality/price comparison

Probably the best on the market but.......
The 'pros' of the Squirrel Buster Bird Feeder are that it does provide really good visibility of the birds that use it. In my garden that includes, various Finches, Nut Hatches, Blue, Coal and Great Tits and Robins. It also does outwit squirrels as long as you site the product correctly. That 'cons' are that it really does need an additional 6/8 inch hand made extension when hanging the feeder, which feels so essential to stop squirrels that it should be included with the product. Also there is a LOT of seed displacement caused in my garden by marauding jackdaws as well as the smaller birds discarding unwanted seed. So much so that it has resulted in mice appearing in the border below the feeder. So on balance its a good product but it has it's drawbacks. I tend to now put only sunflower hearts in the feeder as there is less displacement. I look forward to them launching a Jackdaw/Squirrel Buster product one day in the future!

Keeps the squirrels away
The product does what it says it does. Stops squirrels stealing the wild bird food.

This product is not product proof
I am most disappointed with this product as within minutes of hanging it up in my garden a pidgeon landed on it, violently flapped its wings, and most of the seeds fell out the bottom and were immediately ate up by its mates. In the meanwhile I have not seen any small birds use it but that probably cannot be blamed on the product. In the meanwhile I have fabricated a removable circular plate to stop seeds falling out the bottom which appears to have deterred the pigeons. Perhaps the manufacturers could build this into there product which as it stands is of little use.

For the Sake of a Screw the War was Lost .......
I bought two of these as they were recommended by gardening friends. Yes, the squirrels definitely have their work cut out and it is probably fair to say, with regards to the seed, they are pretty squirrel proof. What they are not however are robust! The plastic feeder is held in place by 3 small screws. When fighting to clean one of them (yes, not the easiest, use a bottle brush), I noticed that all three screw holdings were cracked. When I could not get them really clean, I (foolishly) decided to remove the screws - bad mistake, as it disintegrated rendering it completely useless ... all for the sake of a screw (or two). The squirrels are not easily deterred and I can only assume the weight and vigorous fighting of the squirrel ‘did for’ the screw holdings. For their price, I won’t be buying another - Good engineering supported by very poor design.

Durable and keeps squirrels off!
We have bought several of these. Durable, easy to fill, and works as described. Birds use it all year round.

Perfect
This Bird Feeder says it is Squirrel proof and it is. It's not Racoon proof. They just knock it off the branch it's attached to. However that has proven to me how well made this product is. It has taken many falls from about 7 or 8 feet and has no damage. I've had it for 2 years and it is still in perfect shape. I would highly recommend it.

It keeps the furry tailed rats frustrated
I've been through a few feeders, and this is the only one that has successfully fed all kinds of birds and kept the squirrels at bay. Well designed, easy to work with and very popular with the feathered neighbors.

Worth it, even if you don’t hang it high up
Love this product, works as advertised. Squirrels are only able to feed from the dropped scraps of the birds. Mind you, the shepherds hook that it hangs from isnt that high off the ground (my feeder is probably 3 feet away from the ground). The birds love it and I’m getting all sorts of variety. If you want to get a bird feeder, I can recommend this product wholeheartedly but I strongly suggest you read about bird feed first to see if it suits your needs

Keeps squirrels away!!!
This sturdy, well made feeder DOES deter squirrels! The bottom closes with the weight of the squirrel and the squirrels leave it alone. They do return to collect grain dropped by the birds but the birds have first pick. Birds love it....so many come that it empties fast. Great feeder.
