TRS to TRRP adaptor needed if installing an external speaker on a BTECH UV-25X2 (Second Gen unit.)

I'm wishing some manufacturer made the same kind of CHEAPIE HEADPHONES as we're sold commonly everywhere, including 'dollar stores'. They were not VERY high fidelity, but they were functionally good enough and lightweight and comfortable enough for a Walkman portable stereo.This was before smartphones, and I haven't seen them for sale for over 15 years.Of course, such headphones would be more useful and comfortable than stupid earbuds (that fall out of my ears, and can get gunky with earwax) if they also included a cheapie MICROPHONE, like the earbuds do.But then, if course, the mini 3.5 mm phone plug must have 4 CONDUCTORS, not 3.I was afraid to plug the cheapie headphones (pictured) 3-conductor plug into my smartphone 4 -conductor jack AFTER I did it once, and the smartphone audio output (noticed through it's 'speakers') seemed to be much reduced; possibly damaged. I don't know. So that's why I bought this conversion connector.And finally, the 3 conductor to 4 conductor converter DIDN'T give me any sound at all. Poorly manufactured, I guess.I'm returning it.As for those cheapie headphones......they were only a couple of bucks back when, and they always worked, new, out of the package. Of course, they did eventually break, from abuse, and then I'd simply get another one.

trs male connector does not fit into female receptacle. no sound. does not work.

The TRRS male plug fit into my Android OK, but there was no sound when I hooked up a TRS male into the TRS female socket. Someone said the TRS male end would work in the TRS female socket on this adapter. It did not.
