I had the older models of these for years with no issues until I washed them and they quit working. I purchased 5 of these and only one set of batteries were good. Those gave out after a few days but had a full, heavy mist on high setting. I then tried rechargeable Energizer batteries and they produced a great mist for the first few times and then no mist or very little mist. Then I purchased their recommended batteries and they also worked at first but then there was no mist or very little mist after a few hours. Since I threw out my boxes, I can't return them. Very dissatisfied and surprised from the previous model. Will be putting them in the trash and buying plug in diffusers! Thanks for wasting my money Air Wick. UPDATE: I decided to give it one more try and purchased the Air Wick refills. I refilled my old refill bottles with an oil I purchased online. When I used the Air Wick oil refills, they work terrific. Evidently, the other oil is too heavy for the mist to work. Sorry Air Wick. Changing to 5 stars!

Lasts so long I forgot it needed refills! The smell is relaxing and perfect for home. Doesnt collect much dust. Releasing a perfect amount of mist to enjoy but avoid allergy triggers too.

I used to burn scented candles until one exploded from wick heat then ceramic oil defusers but once the were saturated stopped absorbing oil. I used the fireplace electric fragrance dispensers but you need to mix oil & water ever time used. This is automatic with very little hands-on other than inserting frangent bottle and turning on the right time for 8 hour coverage. Lasting several months in a compact size made this the perfect choice over the three with a pretty good choice of fragrances to pick from

I like the look of this diffuser — small, modern, and no plugs needed. The mist spreads scent evenly and shuts off automatically so it’s not wasteful. The only drawback is the refills don’t last long and you’re limited to Air Wick’s own cartridges. Good if you want a simple, set-it-and-forget-it air freshener.

I have been using this diffuser in my bathroom because there is only one electrical outlet there and I need the outlet for things like shavers and hairdryers--so no plug-in air fresheners for me. I like that an apple scent is available, since I'm sensitive to many other, especially floral, scents. I find that the fragrance is not long-lasting, though, and I have to re-order fragrance oil more often than I'd like, even though the diffuser only runs 8 hours a day (why?). Batteries have to be replaced in groups of three at a time, and they're also an expense. I find that, over time, the oil collects in the bottom of the diffuser, which is the piece that must be removed to replenish oil and batteries; the oil gets on my hands. I am looking for another solution.

After reading all the negative reviews once again people don’t read the directions. The Airwick Essential Mist diffuser is designed to run for 8 hours per cycle. It releases fragrance mist intermittently during this period and then automatically goes into a standby mode for 16 hours before starting the next 8-hour misting cycle again the following day. This cycle is controlled by an internal timer and cannot be extended past 8 hours continuously. If you turn it off and on again, the 8-hour cycle timer resets. The device typically operates on 3 AA batteries, and the duration of use depends on the battery quality and fragrance refill levels. It is normal for the device to stop misting after about 8 hours of active use within a day, not continuously beyond that time. To keep it running longer, it needs to be turned on each day for a new 8-hour cycle. Also, ensure the batteries are fresh and the refill is properly inserted for optimal operation.

They constantly flash, and flashing can mean the batteries are bad, the oil is out, or its just had a crappy day and doesnt want to do its job. Other times, it just simply doesnt work. Nothing for days. Wish I hadn't bought so many....
