Great bang for the buck. Fun and useful.
I bought this after seeing how a friend's didn't fold up in the presence of a broadcast transmitter (antenna disconnected.) The book was useless for me as the print was too small, but after playing with the menus a little I found my way around easily. When not using it at work, I just have fun with it. Sensitivity OK, but it's a champ with an external antenna. The audio is what you'd expect from a small metal box, but actually it does have great clarity. Better with headphones. I really love the interface. It's just fun to tune around with and it does feel pretty well built. The knob is solid and smooth unlike some more pricey portables. It won't replace my far more expensive portable for longer term listening, but I'm really please with it as it is. Sometimes it's a little glitchy and needs a reboot, but for the price I can more than live with that. Some may be having trouble because, unlike most receivers, there is an antenna switch in the back that switches between FM rx and MW/SW rx. It's right near the BNC jack.

nice little radio.
Fun little radio. I hooked it to a 125 ft wire antenna and monitored many SW and Ham transmissions.

The antenna makes all of the difference. I am a Radio Engineer. Worth every penny. :)
It was delivered on time, worth the money, needs a ground plane which is beyond the scope ofmost people's understanding. Hirem Percy would be proud of it. :)

AMATEUR RADIO OPERATOR REVIEW
The workmanship and quality of this SDR receiver are good. Also, the software screens are relatively easy to use and provide reasonable functionality for the price of the unit. However, the RF sensitivity is low and only the strongest signals can be heard above the noise floor using the telescoping antenna provided. The unit was connected to a 43' vertical antenna with an antenna tuner for matching purposes and RF sensitivity showed some improvement but not enough to warrant keeping the unit. Some users may be quite satisfied listening to strong short wave broadcast stations but our need to hear weaker stations during a loss of power scenario requires us to continue our search for a more sensitive unit.

Excellent compact receiver.
Bought this unit mainly for shortwave enjoyment. I especially love the scanning feature. The ability to capture stations with a shortwave antenna is strong.

It works.
I do have a problem with reception. It may be my location, but I'm next to I-81 in Maryland and can't pick up anything, except FM.

Waste of time and money
I got my grandson a $20 AM FM radio with shortwave and can pick up stations from far and near. This device with multiple antennas could only pick up 1 AM 1 FM station in the area. Hard to use no instructions, I would call this a piece of junk
