Can't wait for another Nigel May novel!
Fantastic fun, great opening chapter and many colourful characters. This is a tale of a group of women whose lives become very, very intertwined. This is definitely an adult read, I do not, as a general rule read novels aimed at women, I don't read a lot of fiction at all actually so to say I finished it in 3 sittings over a couple of days speaks volumes for how well it flows and how much you, as a reader, want to find out more about how these lives intertwine. I like the English language and Nigel May uses it well (I don't do dummed down when reading), it was an enjoyable escape and if Nigel is writing more I will read them. If you like a bit of everything- fashion, travel, seduction, intrigue, and a good dollop of "adult themes" in your reading give 'Addicted' a go.

Put it on your essential Holiday Items List......
I loved Trinity and I generally love Nigel's way with words so I had high expectations for this book. Generally I enjoyed it: the sex scenes were well written, appropriate in length and frequency and not cringe-worthy in their description. The interconnecting plots were engaging and as usual, Nigel's description of locations is wonderfully visual. Before I go any further, firstly let me make it clear that this is a very enjoyable bonkbuster and secondly, there may be some spoilers in the next part! I promise honest reviews and whilst I adore Mr May in all his persona's, I am not going to just gush about his book if I don't mean it. So there were a couple of minor niggles for me. Firstly, the main characters Lauren, Martha and Kelly are all great friends one moment and the next Martha hates Lauren and has no hesitation in taking her husband. Whilst I know that women do this to each other, it just felt a little forced as to the level of hate Martha suddenly had for Lauren. I also struggled with Saul and Martha. Possibly because I don't believe in love at first sight and certainly don't believe in sex so amazing you fall for someone hook, line and sinker, I found their sudden love for each other after basically one flagellation and one shag, a little hard to comprehend! A little more development of their romance before they decided they were meant for each other would have sat better with me but this might be me rather than the book! These are however minor niggles and did not prevent me from enjoying this book at all - not quite as much as Trinity - but still very good and well worth reading.

Shirley Conran meets American soap opera
Hot on the heels of reading "Trinity", I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the second Nigel May novel, "Addicted".The novel is split into two halves. The first half, starts with a funeral where the rich and famous have all gathered to pay their respects to a woman who has been murdered. Then we are introduced to the four main characters:Portia Safari - an international diva, who is a secret alcoholicLauren Everett - a clean cut politician's wife, who craves excitement in her mundane life and is drawn into her own addictionMartha Éclair - heir to a huge South African winery, with an equally huge addiction to sexNancy Arlow - a faded pop star who is a compulsive kleptomaniacOne of these women has breathed her last! But who? And why?As we are drawn into these women's lives, we find they are all somehow connected to each other through the introduction of other major characters throughout the novel. Nigel May has a wonderfully eccentric way building a plethora of colourful characters - some you will love, some you will loathe but every one of them has their own little part to play in the unfolding twists, turns and shocks that are abundant throughout.A somewhat gratuitous use of the additional characters? Given the nature and the genre of the novel, they are perfectly drawn and essential for the reader to draw their own conclusions on who they think is the unfortunate victim at the beginning. The second half of the novel is where the action really kicks off - I found myself turning the pages faster and faster, as I was desperately eager to discover what happened next...and see if my own sleuthing skills paid dividends.Without giving anything away, I found myself equating the novel to Shirley Conran meets a quintessential American soap opera. (I was really hoping that one of the characters would say: "which one of you bitches is the killer?" but alas that line is not in it!!!)With two Nigel May novels read and thoroughly enjoyed, I am eagerly awaiting his next offering.

Addicted is addictive!
OMG Addicted is totally addicting. Be prepared to put everything else on hold when you read this book.Following the lives of four glam ladies who on the surface have it all, but scratch away and you'll see they are flawed and have their own demons. The book opens at a funeral, with an unknown character gloating they have gotten away with murder (I worked out the murderer but the beauty of this book is, you change your mind about the victim all the way through). With compelling characters and twists all over the place along with totally sexy scenes, Addiction is a perfect beach read, but also perfect on a cold, miserable January day.Just off to download Nigel's other books, I love a good bonkbuster and this isn't just a good bonkbuster it's bonktastic (if that's a word!!)
