Great for higher strength abv and keeps fruit flavours
I normally use the lalvin 118 but decided to give this a try after reading about it helping retain more flavour and gain higher abv. It's easy to use. If you add to a starter, make sure temp is 30-35C. The label says to make it a touch warmer but i found it was a bad start. Maybe too warm. It is picky about nutrients too. So make sure you do add yeast nutrients to your batch and will take off after 24 hours. I used this for a batch of Mead SG indicted a potential abv of 12% and it fermented completely to a sg of 0. Much faster and had more flavour than the usual 118 i ised before. It won't be to everyones preference. But well worth atry. If you aren't using it anytime soon store the sachets in the fridge to keep the yeast good. Good quality and value. Recommended.thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful

Very good quality wine yeast.
This yeast is brilliant. Both of my country wines plum and blackberry are fermenting well. The best wine yeast I have ever used.

Best high strength yeast
K1-V1116 is one of the best high strength yeasts but also suitable for actually making things that taste nice unlike champagne yeast or turbo yeast £1 per pack is the best ive found so far

I've used this yeast strand many times and have always found good results for high ABV mead. It ferments dry as long as there is enough air put into the must before pitching the yeast. I wish that it came in a smaller 2 or 3 pack instead of 5 or 10. I typically don't use the whole pack in one batch of brewing, and the rest goes bad by the time I brew again. I store mine in the fridge to last longer, which does seem to work better than a cupboard.
