This is a USB powered light. It comes with a 1 amp mains adapter so you can just plug it in. Word of warning, the usb socket is on top of the mains adapter which means that if you're restricted for space above plug sockets you may struggle with this. I tried an different mains adapter (more powerful 1.3A) and it only worked on the first two brightness settings, not the dimmest.As for the light, its a nice clear daylight type white. There are three levels for the brightness, full (which is nice and bright for desk use), two thirds and on third. Using the supplied 1A power adapter all are stable and flicker free. A more powerful adapter caused flickering on the lowest setting. The extra power did not mean extra brightness however. The light was nice and even accross the length of the light and thw beam width was more than adequate.The light feels about as sturdy as any other light using the pantograph arm. It's very light weight unit, with all the bits being metal except the light housing itself which feels plastic.It does get warm in use, particularly on the top of the light housing. After 30 minutes, the heat was noticeable but not worryingly so.All in all, a nice lamp which I will have a multiple of uses for. Lets see how long it lasts.

I purchased this mainly to help me when painting miniatures. It was important that it didn't give of much heat, was adjustable and had a white colour temperature.I can happily say that it's met all those requirements.The lamp feels sturdy and is easy to use. The light at it's brightest is brilliant for painting in the evening.And it doesn't take up much space at my painting station. It's a pretty small desk it's attached to.Would recommend.

I got the A16S on a Lightning Deal. It comes with the lamp, extendable arm, desk clamp and a 12v power supply.The arm is easy to move and firm once positioned. The clamp is solid enough. They're actually the exact the same parts as on the InnoGear Adjustable Microphone Stand, which I also have.The touch switch on the side of the lamp is responsive and quite satisfying to use, although it's a minor hassle to have to cycle through the four brightness settings if you dim it by accident. The two light temperatures is a nice idea, but the yellow is too yellow to be usable for me.The lamp is bright enough to completely light up the work area on my desk. I was deciding between this and the less powerful A16. I'm glad I went for this one. A less powerful light would not be sufficient for a work environment.The £46 regular price seems a little high for the overall quality, but for what I paid I'm happy with it.

This is an excellent and very manoeuvrable light. What I love about it there is no weight to it; unlike the the old angle poise lamps, good in their day, but built like battle ships and prone to rusty bolts and equipped with heavy duty steel springs. There are people that still equate a heavy construction with quality for some reason and disregard the advantages of modern materials. I can change the direction of this light by a touch of a finger as indeed I can do with operating the light settings. No you do not need to worry about LED's they will last a very long time indeed as they consume very little energy. I have a small table at right angles to my very large drawing board and I have fixed the lamp to that so it can be swung to both locations very easily. As far as I am concerned I cannot find fault with it at all. The price is not bad either.

Excellent light, really sturdy and adaptable. I'm a conservator and wanted something for a small workbench. This is great! Plenty of options for light levels, and angles etc. Clamps tightly to the thick table top. Doesn't look clunky or dated either. What a bargain!

Fantastic LED Lamp. I am sensitive to light and wanted something to illuminate my desk area which doesn't get much light at certain times of the day. The ability to adjust brightness and the angle at which it shines is brilliant, especially when using computer monitors. No horrible glare! The light can almost appear like day-light and is great for reading with. The clamp to the desk seems strong. I've had no problems, infact I am very impressed with the design. The added bonus is that it can be plugged into USB port or into electrics via adapter that comes with it. I am very pleased with this product and not badly priced either.

This looks like the first review for the black version which differs from the cheaper white version, a bit confusing how the items are both together in the listing as the functionality is different. The black version allows you to change the colour temperature, warm white, which is more pleasing for general use and daylight that is better for checking colour accuracy for art and craft projects. Although this review does not cover reliability, first impressions are good, the unit seems well put together. I've mounted my lamp on a shelf along the side edge of my work desk, which gives a foot extra height. So it now cantilevers above a 30" monitor without restricting view and illuminates the desk in front nicely. The clamp supplied is well made and can cope with a good variety of desk or shelf thickness (15 to 60mm approx). This version is also not USB powered, it runs from a dedicated plug with a built in transformer. Very pleased so far.

Couldn't be happier with this purchase. The light is well designed, with only a single button controlling all functions. Three different lighting modes that can all be dimmed or brightened and a mounting arm that feels robust. I have had several desk/shelf mounted lights and this is by far the best.

I honestly didn't have the highest expectations for this lamp. A lot of the older reviews for the previous plastic model aren't great. And I couldn't find too many reviews between Amazon and Ali****ss for this newer metal version.But wow, I absolutely love this lamp. The arm mechanism is smooth and pretty easy to manipulate. It looks like it should last for a decently long time. (Just a note, this arm does appear to be a standard generic arm that is sold for a variety of products like microphone boom stands and desk lamps)The light itself is exactly what I was looking for. The white setting is just a bit whiter than your typical office, and it's not too stark. It's actually the perfect white to do some hard work under. The 3000k setting has a every so slight yellow/pink tinge to it (beyond what you'd normally see in incadescent bulbs) but overall, it's great too.I do wish the controls could be better. The touch button isn't as sensitive as it could be, and I often have to tap a second time.Lastly, just some info about my setup so any future buyers can judge if this works for them. My desk is 48x31 inches. I have this lamp clipped onto the back edge, about 25 in from one side. The arm is high enough to go over my monitor that I have on the desk, and also bright enough to light up all the papers in the center half. The edges of my desk get a bit dimmer, but considering this size of this light compared to the desk, I have zero complaints about that.Couldn't be happier!
