Thunderbolt Go Dock, 11 Ports, Built-in Power, 90W Charging, Compatible with Mac Thunderbolt and USB-C PC, iPad, Chromebooks and Android Devices, OWCTB4DKG11P

I've tried a number of hubs, docks, stations that claim to work with Thunderbolt. I found that having an HDMI and DisplayPort doesn't mean you can plug in two monitors and get extended display. Even if I tried using a DisplayPort to Thunderbolt cable, i.e. USB-C port, it would only mirror what was in the HDMI or DisplayPort connection. The Go Dock has an SD Card slot, audio jack, USB-A 2.0, and USB-C 3.2 on the front. I've used the SD Card and USB-A ports to read SD Cards and USB Thumb Drives. They work fine. If you are using macOS, you might need to go to System Preferences -> Sound to switch the output to the Go Dock. Plug speakers or headphones into the audio jack, go to System Preferences and change the output to the Go Dock. On the back of the Go Dock are 2 Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, Ethernet, 2 USB-A 3.2 and a power connector. The Go Dock comes with a power cable. It can be used as a power supply for your MacBook laptop. I'm using it right now and it works great. I plug an external keyboard and mouse into the USB-A ports, a 4K monitor into the HDMI, a second 4K monitor into one of the Thunderbolt ports and an external 4K camera in the other Thunderbolt port. I can plug my laptop into the Computer input port on the side. If I used it with my M1 Pro laptop, it will display two extended displays, i.e. screen 1 and screen 2. If I have my laptop open it will mirror the main display, screen 1. If I use my M4 Pro laptop, it can also do extended display. But with my laptop open, it shows 3 screens. The laptop is screen 1, monitor 1 is screen 2 and monitor 2 is screen 3. No need to run DisplayLink software. No issues. Works great. I did want to be able to have two computers connected via a switch. That is, plug the switch into the Go Dock, plus M1 Pro into computer input 1, plug the M4 Pro into computer input 2 but a USB-C switch won't work (design limitation) with Thunderbolt. If I wanted to be able to use it as a docking stations AND switch, I'd need to buy a Thunderbolt 4 KVM. These are almost twice the price of the Go Dock. For now it is just easier to unplug laptop 1 and plug in laptop 2 when I want to switch.

Meine Erwartungen wurden erfüllt – alle angeschlossenen Laufwerke funktionieren bestens. Gute Leistung für einen angemessenen Preis.

Die OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock lässt keine Wünsche offen! Thunderbolt Anschlüsse, USB3 Anschlüsse, HDMI, SD-Karte, Audio und 2,5Gbit Ethernet - und das inkl einem integrierten 90W Netzteil. Integriert bedeutet in diesem fall, dass kein externer "Ladeziegel" verwendet werden muss wie bei so vielen anderen Modellen, sondern ein 230V Eurostecker ausreichend ist. Ich betreibe mein Mac Book Pro mit M2 Chip daran und es ist einfach nur eine Erleichterung nur noch ein einziges Kabel einstecken zu müssen und dann sofort im meine komplette Peripherie online zu haben. Ich betreibe 2x externe 4k Bildschirme via Thunderbolt daran und die Verbindung ist stabiler als zuvor bei direkter Verbindung zum Mac. Dank 10Gbit Netzwerk Infrastruktur kann ich auch die hohen Datenraten der 2,5Gbit Schnittstelle effizient nutzen, welche deutlich mehr Durchsatz bietet als das normale 1Gbit LAN - Ein dramatischer Unterschied beim Arbeiten auf dem NAS. Die Zusätzlichen Anschlüsse an der Front, SD Karte, Audio Jack, USB3 und Thunderbolt machen die tägliche Arbeit deutlich einfacher - egal ob einfach mal ein USB-Stick oder eine SD Karte, der Zugriff ist deutlich einfacher möglich. Das Gehäuse ist äusserst stabil und eignet sich daher auch gut um es, wie vom Hersteller beworben, in die Tasche zu stecken und mitzunehmen. Das silber-grau passt optisch wunderbar zum MacBook in Space-Grau. Bei der Nutzung erwärmt sich das Gehäuse auf leicht Handwarm, auch bei starker Auslastung der Hardware. Alles in allem bin ich extrem froh endlich eine "All-in-one" Lösung für meinen Arbeitsplatz gefunden zu haben, welcher für mich keine Wünsche mehr offen lässt und mir die tägliche Arbeit deutlich erleichtert.

Erstklassiges Dock, funktioniert super an einem M1 Pro Max und einem LG 32UN880P-B als monitor. Der Monitor allein hatte unter Macos das Problem, das er nach dem ausstecken einen kompletten Neustart erfordert hat um wieder korrekt erkannt zu werden. Mit diesem Dock dazwischen funktioniert das Aus- und wieder Einstecken allerdings reibungslos. Auch für 10G Ethernet braucht es keine zusätzlichen Treiber. Trotz des üppigen Preises bin ich allerdings sehr happy da es einfach läuft 👍
