This toaster oven is a convenient size and works well. It toasts relatively evenly in the slot on top and can accommodate large pieces. The oven door closes tightly and retains the heat inside better than the previous toaster oven that I owned.

Some reviews mention the heat not coming on as fast, but it’s been great thus far. Toaster is great, and the oven as well. I thought the spacing w the toaster area closed would take away too much space but it not been an issue for quick reheats. I also like the options w the knobs. Fits nicely under the cabinets on the counter. Awesome value

Does the job for reheating leftovers! The toaster actually works quite well for bread and bagels! The only drawback is the grate doesn’t slide out easy because of the catch try attached to it.

Great for toast, baking, and broiling

I purchased this for two reasons. I had a toaster on one counter and a toaster oven on the other counter. The toaster oven was great for baking, but not very good for toasting. So after looking at several choices I conferred with consumer reports online magazine. This particular toaster oven was rated very highly. My favorite thing in toaster ovens are crab cakes. But my previous toaster oven had a tendency to char them just a little bit too much. I think it was because of the small cabin space inside in the elements were just a little bit too close. Because of the larger interior in this one I use the same timing and same temperatures. The crab cakes came out perfectly browned and moist with a little bit of crust without being burned. So the extra interior space is beneficial. I have not tried the toasting function as of yet. But once I do, I will update this review. My initial impressions are it does a great job on my crab cakes, without heating up the kitchen too much, although the exterior is a little bit larger than my previous toaster oven.

However if you are hurting for kitchen space and need a good toaster oven that occasionally can be used as a toaster then this is probably be a good product for you. Detailed Review: While this product is a Countertop Oven And Long Slot Toaster, it is sub-par in the latter. The heating element is below the the toasting slot such that the bottom is heated more than the top. The toasting slot is also on the short side. I toasted several waffles with heights of between 4-4.5 inches using the toaster and often the top of the waffle was near the top opening of the toasting tray thus further contributing to the heating non-uniformity. Basically the top would be warm while the bottom was crisp at 5th setting and the top would be cool while the bottom was warm at the 4th setting. Further the toasting seemed to take longer than a traditional toaster so I did not see the 40% faster toasting. Reviewers seem split on whether there is a toasting issue and some specified the 31156 model did not have one so I gave it a chance. However, my 31156 model did have the uneven toasting issue so your mileage may vary. The toaster oven portion worked perfect;y well for cooking mini pizzas and reheating steak. Both the timer and temperature controls appeared to work well and the timer is a nice addition to keep you from overcooking you food or leaving the appliance on. Small note: the timer control knob is a bit tight if you exceed the desired time and try to rotate it back so you will need give it some extra force to rotate back to the desired time.

Well made unit. Sealed heating element and easy to keep clean. Very nice design and toaster works very nicely too. we have owned several Hamilton Beach appliances and have never been disappointed at all. This is a great addition to our kitchen. Thank you Hamilton Beach and Amazon.

Toaster or Toaster oven? If you have the counter space, this is a must have combination. You can use it as a traditional toaster or as a toaster oven. Love that!
