Whitmor Supreme Wood & Chrome Sink Shelf

I purchased these for my plants. I have a planter with some sweet basil and thai basil and wanted a place where they could get some sun. They were also hogging some counter space. I thought I'd go with this since it was silver and bamboo, which are themes already present in my kitchen. The package came well; it was longer than I expected, but the shelves itself were intact as far as length (they're pretty sturdy which I appreciate now. My double sink is also longer than I estimated, so it was the perfect size. There are 6 pieces of metal: the 4 bars, the top shelf, and the bottom thing, which I placed on the sink with the back flush to the wall. I have a double sink with a spout where you have to lift a handle to get water; not the ones with knobs on either side. At first, I put it together, placed it behind my sink and when I lifted the handle, it hit the shelf! I saw that I was able to adjust it and made it at a length so it was level with the window sill that is behind the sink. I'm sure it will clear most sink handles. Mine is a little cozy, though. The bamboo plank that goes in the top shelf is not attached to the top shelf itself, and I actually liked it better without it so I'm using it without the bamboo insert. It made my kitchen look pretty (with the basil in front of the window) and not overly crowded, since the shelf has silver bars running across the entire length of it and has the see-through look. My orchid has joined the party and there is plenty of room. We'll see how long it lasts and how it holds up, but as far as appearances, ease of assembly, and practicality goes, 5 stars. Definitely recommended.

Bought this over the sink shelf as a monitor stand for my desk at work and it is AWESOME for this purpose and a decent price for the application. Was easy to assemble, is sturdy, true to the measurements given, and I love the materials being metal and thick wood. Sturdier than other monitor stands I’ve had and easily holds two regular size flat screen monitors. I am using it at full height although you could make it shorter. I am tired of looking down at monitors. This also leaves lots of open room beneath for a box for cable management, or pads of paper, your phone to stand up against the rail and be visible, a small desk fan, small desk toys, and still be able to push your keyboard slightly under the shelf. Other monitor stands have been too small, too short, or had supports or drawers in the way that prevent you from having decent storage space beneath. Will be getting one for my home office too.

I love this sink shelf! It took a bit of time to come in, but it was well worth the wait! It's very well made and was very easy to assemble. It's absolutely beautiful! I use it to put some of my decorative votive/tealight candleholders on.

The shelf is the perfect length, width, and height for my needs. I was careful to put the spacers at the ends of each pole so when I slid the shelf over each, I would have the maximum height. It leaves plenty of space underneath to put my holders I purchased for scrubbers and such. It also gave me somewhere to finally display my “Tea for One” sets. I use them quite often in the winter and fall, now they will be easier to get to. As many have stated, the board does not lay flat. It is indeed warped. Since this seems to be a common occurrence, and I would assume a large part of the purchase price, I would recommend offering the stand without the board at a lower price. I also think that not finishing the design from end to end, weakens the design and aesthetics of the stand. It cuts off about 1/2” prior to where it should meet the end pieces on both front and back. It just makes it look like a cheap knock off of the original design. I could understand if I had paid perhaps $25.00 for this item, but I paid more than double that! With the wobbly board, and unfinished design, I don’t feel this is a good value for my money and sadly, I can’t recommend it for those reasons. If those things don’t bother you and you just need a good, sturdy shelf and you don’t mind paying for it, then yes, this will do a good job and hold a good amount of weight.

This shelf is Perfect! I couldn't be happier :) I'm a jeweler and using it on my workbench to help keep things organized. It's very strong and sturdy, so I don't have to worry at all about piling steel tools on it, or spools of heavy wire. It's really the perfect size, and without a lower front bar I have easy access to my work surface under the shelf. The wood is very nicely finished too. Great item, well worth the cost, and I may be back for another to use on my beading work table. It would be great to put thread, needles, wax, etc up off the table, but right in reach. It is a good solid shelf and was easy enough to put together as I have had stuff like this before. However the instructions are quite poor and need a bit more information. Even so, I would have given 5 stars but the wooden insert has some chunks of wood splintered in one corner. The shelf was obviously a snug fit, so whoever popped the shelf in, forced it, and 2 small chunks of wood were splintered out. I have turned the shelf upside down so it is not noticeable but that was a little disappointing.

Not a genuine product- damaged grill and wooden board has become bend and doesn't fit accurately with top grill support.

Very good quality - easy to assemble (although a little tricky to get level but I managed after some adjustments). It's very sturdy and sits at a good height along my kitchen window that I can still fit things underneath. It's not behind my sink - it wasn't high enough to allow me to turn on the tap with it above the sink. If you have more depth behind your sink, it could work, but if it's shallow like mine, then you might run into the same issues. But as I said, high enough to still allow me usable counter space underneath. The size and width are great for multiple potted plants, which is what I use it for - I wanted a kitchen garden since my apartment doesn't have any outdoor space. This was a great solution and allows my plants lots of light in the window. Would def recommend!

Quite a nice, solid item for a reasonable price. I really like it. It fits nicely where I needed it, it looks great and it seems very durable (I don't have any hesitation putting some fairly heavy items on it). It's proving super helpful in a small apartment with limited counter space. Note: I would recommend carefully measuring your area to make sure it will fit (particularly clearance above faucet) as I could see that being an issue in other kitchens.
