Rowenta makes a durable product.
I have always had good experiences with Rowenta irons. My last one I had for at least 8 years and I iron weekly. It did finally stop heating up. I figure that is quite a long life span. This new iron does great. Heats up quickly and it has a good weight to it. Not too heavy or too light. Holds plenty of water. The steam boost button is in a tricky spot for me. It’s right where you grip the handle but that’s not enough negative that I would return. The product description states it has a digital display, which this iron does not. But again, not a deterrent for me.I would but again.

Love it
This is my 3rd Rowenta. Far the best so far. Love the wide stand base.

Excellent high quality
Big fan of Rowenta irons. After my last one stopped working due to my negligence (dropped too many times), I bought another brand at the big box warehouse. Was ok but struggled to get linen or 100% cotton shirts nice and crisp. I could never really get jeans or canvas pants properly ironed. Finally decided I needed a new Rowenta. Only regret is not buying a replacement when I needed a new one. Heavy iron, big soleplate, tons of steam, gets very hot. This iron makes short work of all of my ironing. Jeans, canvas, linen, cotton are no longer an issue. They come out perfectly pressed . You get what you pay for.

Watch the spray button.
The iron works well. However, I don't know what possessed whoever designed this iron to make such a big spray button. It leaves less room on the handle and I invariably end up spraying just because I don't have enough room to grasp the handle.

Taking a chance on Rowenta
So far so good with this one. I have gone through several Rowenta irons over the years, and was always disappointed by them failing all too soon. Hoping for better results with this one.

Updated Review ~ Iron is JUNK!
UPDATE: I really blew it on this review, should have given it more time. I HATE this iron!! I have had it barely six months, and right out of the box it worked great. But six months in, I am throwing it in the trash to vow never to buy another Rowenta iron. The iron sits in my linen closet, has never been dropped, and here are the problems. It not only spits water all over the clothes, you can see by the photos. But it literally dumps water on the clothes. If I turn the steam off, the iron cools down and doesn't stay hot enough to iron. So BEWARE, it may work great out of the box, but give it time. I am purchasing a different brand, and won't even donate this one. I don't want anyone else to feel the same frustration, so in the trash it goes. This is my 3rd Rowenta Iron, and I love them. Yes, they are a bit heavier than other irons, but I prefer that. Some have said the water reservoir is small, I haven't noticed that. The iron heats quickly, steams well, and is heavy enough that I don't have to press down to get a nice clean garment. The water reservoir is fine, if I have a lot to iron I may have to refill it. But it isn't leaking, or spitting water, and I am very happy with this Rowenta iron.

Very difficult to handle if you’re on the small side.
This iron is huge and difficult to handle if you are on the small side. When ironing my hand hits the spray button, consequently, everything is constantly wet. The iron does emit a good amount of steam, however, the cord is very short and it really not easy to use. Would not buy again.

Best Rowenta iron I've owned
I iron frequently and have had several Rowenta irons over the years. My last Rowenta (8260 I believe) started leaking after a few years of frequent use. I read a lot of reviews on Amazon and other sites and finally decided on this one. At first I wasn't sure I would be happy with my purchase and had to get used to the flat bottom stand. After having it for 3 months, I am happy to say it's the best Rowenta I ever owned. I love the blast of steam it puts out and it gets out wrinkles with ease. To prevent leaking, I am emptying the iron faithfully after each use. I am using purified water, not tap, not distilled and hope that too is a good decision.
