One of My Guilty Pleasures
I'll admit it upfront - Cheez-Its may not be among the most healthy snack crackers sold - read the ingredients if you don't believe me. But... once in awhile when I'm taking care of my grandsons (who always have a box of these in the cupboard), I must confess to filling a small plastic baggie with these crackers and immediately chomping down. Bear in mind, my grandsons are not the offspring of the "health-nut" daughter and husband with whom I currently live. Nope, they're from my "other" daughter and her husband and to be perfectly honest, they could use some healthier eating habits. Nevertheless, when taking care of my grandsons, I get to sample all sorts of snacks that aren't available in the pantry at the health-nuts' home. As soon as I grab the box of Cheez-Its, my grandsons look at me as though they're concerned that once I get started, I'll eat the entire box. Hmm... wonder why they think that might happen? But, even though I give this product 5 stars, my conscience is contributing to the posting of the following ingredients. I took this from the internet for this product made in the USA. Ingredients: ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID), SOYBEAN AND PALM OIL WITH TBHQ FOR FRESHNESS, SKIM MILK CHEESE (SKIM MILK, WHEY PROTEIN, CHEESE CULTURES, SALT, ENZYMES, ANNATTO EXTRACT FOR COLOR), SALT, CONTAINS TWO PERCENT OR LESS OF PAPRIKA, YEAST, PAPRIKA OLEORESIN FOR COLOR, SOY LECITHIN. Dietary Exchange Per Serving: 1 Carbohydrate, 2 Fats Bread Exchange Per Serving: 1.5 Kosher Status: Kosher Dairy Country of Origin: Distributed in USA

I love these things. My last order was for three boxes (each three pounds) on December 29, 2013. The "prime membership" price was around $7.48 each --- meaning that nine pounds of Cheez-its set me back around $20.00. I consumed all nine pounds by mid-January, 2014. So I went to reup and was surprised to see that the price had tripled to around $22.00 for a single three pound box. I thought that this was impossible, so I called up the friendly Amazon customer rep person (who did not have an accent and assured me that he was located in The United States of America --- and I believed him . . . He said that prices change dramatically up or down all of the time . . . I did not reup . . .) Now I see that the price for a single three pound box has dropped to $16.00. I am tempted to reup. However, since I have been out of Cheez-its, I have lost 28 pounds (in the last three weeks). When the price gets down to around $10.00 a box, I'll reup. Right now, Safeway Stores sells smaller packages of Cheez-its for (what appears to me, without doing any mathematics) a good price.

Is it unhealthy to be addicted to Cheez-its? Probably, but that's why they are consumed in somewhat moderation... or at least cardio is figured in to their consumption. I have a few weaknesses and these are what I would consider to be one. These are a great quick snack, they stay fresh for extended periods (at least in my dry climate) and always have that satisfying crunch. I have tried most of the different flavor versions of Cheez-its but have always preferred the original. Yum!

My kids and husband love these, unfortunately it got smashed a little in the processing so it's better to order these in smaller boxes to protect the product in shipment.
