A true picture book, no text but easily followed story with a happy ending. Would appeal to all ages, excellent illustrations.

I don't really like clowns but when I saw a documentary on Quentin Blake and he mentioned this book, I was tempted to order a copy. He is such an amazing illustrator - achieving a such a lovely story through pictures alone is inspirational. His clown character is adorable, quite unlike any I have previously encountered. Perfect for a bedtime reading and you can ad-lib to your heart's content without being corrected!

This a charming illustrated book ( no text ) bought it for my daughter who is 30 keeping it as a Xmas stocking filler, she will appreciate it just as much as a child will.Blake's drawings carry the story without the need for words. If you have got imagination this works.

I bought this book for my granddaughter and it is loved by both her (aged 8) and her 4 year old brother. Encourages them to tell the story as it is illustrations only and every time they read it , they notice more things in the illustrations, plus it is a wonderful tale. Arrived quickly and well packaged.

I read this to my grandson in the library, no words so you have to tell the story from the pictures. It is beautiful. We were quite worried about the little clown at one point but it all worked out o.k. It is a lovely, lovely book.

Very inspiring story. What the world needs now is more clowns to make it a better place for us and the next generations to live!
