Purchased as a present for my grandaughter 8. She genuinely loves it and uses it often, both to help with school homework and as a general reference book to look up unfamiliar words she's heard or read. After two months she's not failed to find any word she wants. The format is very easy to use and follow. The definitions and usage information are suitably (for children) brief and very easy to understand. The size and weight are fine for middle shool children onwards, although perhaps not suitable for carrying in a school bag every day. If youre thinking of buying this, I recommend that you look at the excerpt on the Amazon site. It gives a very good idea of the style, scope and depth.

My daughter likes the dictionary easy to understand with examples and tiny book easy to carry .

Good size for primary school hands and for carrying around. Entries are clear and helpful for this age group.

Its good but according to my 8 year old son, it misses some words when he tries to search them in it. But nevertheless a good starting point for kids.
