Veterinary Diet Cat Food Sensitivity Control 3.5 Kg (Duck)

Like most cat owners, I think my cat is purrrfect in every way, well, apart from his tummy problem, something which he has had now for around a year and a half. Up until now, myself and my partner have had to deal with, well things you don't want to deal with. I suggest if you are about to tuck into a nice roast dinner, with gravy all over it, you stop reading this, as the dark brown liquid consistency of gravy is well, quite relevant to what his problem was like. When we picked him up from the animal shelter, they said at first he might be a little sloppier then normal. Quite common we were told due to the stress of being moved to a new home. So with pinching of noses, plenty of anti bacterial wipes and nappy sacks we did our duty. Weeks passed, and no major improvement... So we did all the normal things, we tried different foods, wet cat food, dry biscuits, different brands of biscuit, denying him of any form of cat treat, or the accidental/intentional meat droppage from the dinner table on a Sunday afternoon. None of which were a major improvement and regularly we were faced with that horrible job in his, and sometimes around, his litter tray. It's amazing how intelligent a cat can be, in terms of knowing when you are going out for the day or to work, and hiding from being put outside. So most mornings we had the regular coaxing with treats to trick the cat out, or sometimes the use of the more physical approach of grabbing the poor animal, and carrying him out under the most stringent of protests. Alas though, often the cat would outsmart us, and find a hiding place that would out-fox even a police sniffer dog. And when at home with the cat, you would always be in a constant state of alert, listening out for any noises that might resemble the scratching sound a cat makes in a litter tray when he is preparing to release his foul payload. Like Meerkats, we would all stop what we were doing and pop our heads up to confirm if the noise was indeed scratching, and on confirmation of this, run towards the back door like Usain Bolt at a gold medal event, to try and get the cat out of the house before it was too late. This went on for over a year, and yet we still did our duty, sometimes it wasn't too bad, and could be contained with a scoop and a nappy sack. Sometimes not, and some of which, I wish I could purge from my memory, as there were times of it being all over the floor, the wall, and even in the form of paw prints up the stairs where the poor animal had stood in it. The final straw was when we came home to find it in its most liquid like state on our bed, which is the place our cat has chosen it likes to sleep on best. Enough was enough and we took him to the vet, and was advised to give him this food. We fed him the food, he liked it and we waited patiently to see what the outcome was. Days went passed, with no brown gifts, typical, when I actually wanted to see the very thing we had dreaded for nearly a year and half, nothing came. The food supply was getting low, and for the price, I was putting off buying more, no point in spending a fortune on this if it doesn't work, I thought to myself. This morning, getting ready for work and the normal rush, my partner came up to me with a smile and she said "the cats left something in his litter tray". I immediately asked what it was like, but was told to go and see for myself. I knew though from her smile it was good news, so like an exited school boy on Christmas morning, I run downstairs to his litter tray to find a perfectly formed, almost fragrant free, cat poo. Good boy I thought, you can stay in the house today.

We have been buying this dry cat food since may this year. Our cat is now two years old and bought him as a kitten, the rescue shelter gave us kitten go cat food. He stayed on this until he was almost twelve months old and was fine, then he started to be sick around once every few weeks. We decided to feed him a dry food from pets at home, their own brand that was all natural ingredients. After about 6-12 months he was still being sick about once a week. The food had different coloured kibble and found he was separating his favourite coloured biscuits and leaving the rest. I was then sifting out the colours he didn't like and throwing it away. As you can imagine this was very time consuming and a waste of money. Due to being sick often he was underweight, I asked their advice at pets at home who wasn't very helpful, I decided enough was enough and took him to the vet. He suggested the Royal Canin Sensitivity Control cat food as a short term solution then to find something else that was kind to his tummy. The 1.5kg bag with the vet was £15, which I thought was pricey but I was willing to try anything. We took the cat food home and put a small handful in his bowl, I have never seen him enjoy something so much!!!! It was gone within seconds. I give him little and often and he really enjoyed it. I found it was cheaper on Amazon and he has not been sick since. I have recommended it to a work colleague whose cat was also sick often, he really enjoys it too and is never sick at all now. Very pleased with this product, thank you 😃😃😃

I purchased a 3.5kg of this food for my large framed, 7 kilo cat, on the vet's recommendation, as the cat went through a spate of bringing his wet food up not long after eating. At the same time the vet provided us with an ant-acid. We fed the cat 35g of the kibble, soaked in warm water morning and evening, and his regular wet food at lunch time with .5ml of antacid on it. Within a week we could see the cat was more content in his behaviours, not worrying us for food every time we went in the kitchen etc. and his fur had become noticeably softer. But at the same time we also noticed his stools becoming very runny and smelly, with small streaks of blood. We switched back to the wet food for all three meals with .5ml of ant acid morning and evening and the cat's stomach is back to normal. In conclusion we can see the nutritional benefits of the food when it comes to the cat's condition and behaviours, but it wasn't sitting well in his stomach and for his comfort we have reverted back to wet food. Cost wise we found this the most reasonably priced of the sensitive diet kibbles.

My puss cat Percy has always had a bit of an 'iffy' tummy- not so much being sick, more the other end if you know what I mean! This all got worse when he was stressed after a house move last year. This was recommended to me by several sources on the internet. This set him back on track almost straight away. No more runny tummy, no more stressed cat. It gives him a beautiful glossy coat and it seems that a little fills him up quite well so it must be very filling. It smells very meaty so I think this helped him get used to it as I know cats like their food to smell nice. If your cat is particularly fussy you could try soaking these first but they really do seem to be that delicious (not that I've tried them!) that most cats would take them straight away. His best friend who is a dog (weird I know) is obsessed with stealing them too so we have to keep them on the worktop when she comes round! I would definitely recommend talking to your vet about any change in diet particularly to a specialist diet such as this but most are happy for you to give it a go. Just make sure you wean your cat onto it gradually if possible. I also checked with my vet every so often to make sure if he was okay to carry on with them. His tummy is so good now that he's slowly switching to Royal Canin Sensible which is like the non veterinary diet version of this.

Durch einen reinen Zufall (Tierarzt streute es in die Transportbox zur Beruhigung des Tieres) kamen wir auf dieses Futter. Davor wollte unsere Katze kein Trockenfutter fressen. Die Qualität ist bisher absolut gleichbleibend, im Gegensatz zu einigen Nassfutter-Varianten, wo wir immer wieder Reinfälle erleben. Empfehlung für "mäkelige" Katzen ;-)

Vorab: Der momentane Preis am 8.Mai 2023 liegt bei €47,84. Bei zooplus liegt er heute bei €69,99 und bei Dr.Hölter bei €52,00. Hier also am preiswertesten. Ich kenne das Produkt schon. Füttere es bereits seit einigen Wochen und bestelle jetzt 3,5 Kilo. Vorab hatte ich RC Hypoallergenic und RC Anallergenic. Mein Kater Mishu kam aus dem Tierschutz ziemlich krank zu mir. Er erbrach häufig, hatte breiigen, sehr übelriechenden Kot, wenig Appetit, fraß zu wenig, kratzte/leckte und biss sich überall. Sein Wesen war eher sehr verhalten/zurückgezogen, er schlief viel und war unsauber. Seine Stimmungen waren auffällig wechselhaft, bis hin zu aggressiv. Sein Gangbild eher steif mit eingezogenem Bauch, so buckeligen Rücken. Alles kein Wunder, hatte er doch Schmerzen, war im übel und sehr wahrscheinlich war er hungrig. Möglicher Weise hat/hatte er eine verschleppte Gastritis, mit Ulcus. Um final eine Diagnose zu haben, hätte ich für 180€ eine Kotuntersuchung und für sehr wahrscheinlich 300-500€ in einer Klinik eine Magenspiegellung machen lassen müssen. Um dem Kater diesen Stress zu ersparen, haben meine TA und ich uns entschieden folgende Therapie als ersten Schritt zu gehen: Therapie: OMEP Mut 10mg 1xTag (14 Tage) + Schmerzmittel Metacam (10 Tage) + Futterumstellung auf RC Sensitiv Control TroFu (mehrfach täglich kleine Mengen) und zur Nacht kattovit Gastro Nassfutter Huhn/Reis oder Ente/Reis, ein Pouch (85 Gramm). Es ging ihm mit dieser Therapie innerhalb weniger Tage hervorragend. All das oben beschriebene war/ist weg. Mittlerweile nehmen wir bei Rückfällen anstatt OMEP Mut und Metacam 1xTag, eine 1/2 2xTag Gastricumel Tbl. + 1-2 Globuli 3xTag Nux Vomica D12 in Wasser aufgelöst und ins Mäulchen geben. Wirkt bei Mishu Wunder. Zusätzlich bleibe ich bei diesem Trockenfutter, da es ihm deutlich besser bekommt als RC Hypoallergenic und RC Anallergenic. Zudem hat es auch einen deutlich geringeren Rohfettanteil von nur 11%. Die beiden anderen liegen bei 20%. Von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
