I found myself in the market for a self molded guard and had tried two other brands, both had good ratings and reviews before I tried this one. The first brand molded with hot water and I had to use two before I got it right. It really was thin and hands down had the best grip and fit of any of them. The problem was that after a week or so I noticed I had pain in teeth that weren’t normally being affected. The molding was very hard and didn’t offer any sort of cushioning but rather just a barrier from tooth to tooth grinding. On to brand No.2- this guard also molded in a hot water bath and came with 4 to a pack and was by far the most economical. I immediately messed up the first one..even while being careful with it the guard folded into itself and would not release. 2nd attempt went better and I got a successful molding. This guard was very soft and offered great support, but it was very thick on the front of my teeth so my mouth felt like it was continuously being opened. I tried a third time and managed to get the front pressed fairly flat which helped the original problem. But then I had a problem with the rear molars pressing tightly and causing clenching. I tried the fourth one and after another week gave up, the material was just too thick. The Kloud came the next week, come in a two pack and doesn’t use a water bath, instead it uses a small bit of rolled up paper towel that you wet and wedge into the groove where your teeth would rest, which you then pop into a 1100-1200w microwave for around 40sec. Pull it out remove the paper towel and fit into your mouth just as you do the other guards. I followed the instructions and on the first try got a decent fit! That night I felt like the rear was still just a tad too thick because I hadn’t really pressed my molars into it so, no problem, this thing can be reheated and molded several times. Whereas guard no 1 was way to hard, guard 2 was soft but too thick, this Kloud guard is just right!! It is easy to form, fits snug and remains soft and thick enough to provide a cushion but not so thick it messes with your natural jaw/lip alignment! My search is over! This is the Goldilocks ‘just right for me’ guard!

I have a long history of clenching and grinding and used a night guard as a teen, but I was given harder ones that sometimes made my jaw pain worse and eventually gave up on them. I recently had some fillings done on my front teeth to repair chipping and cracking damage from grinding, so I really wanted to prevent more damage from happening but can't afford a custom device from my dentist right now. At the advice of other reviews, I got Kloud and followed the instructions very, very carefully, and I'm really happy with the results. The only thing I would say is that I have a very deep bite with considerable erosion of my teeth from grinding over time - as I suspect a lot of us grinders do - and when I bit and pushed as hard as I could as the directions said to, I found that in a couple of spots where the bite is deepest, it almost went through the plastic. When I do the other one, I not bite/push quite so hard after getting the mold into place and just keep the focus on sucking to get a good mold while biting/pushing just a moderate amount. With that being said, even with the mold being thin in places, the guard is quite good, protects my teeth well, is very comfortable for a night guard (and did not disrupt my ability to fall or stay asleep), and does just what I hoped it would. I was also looking for something with just enough to give to keep my jaw from aching, and this is just soft enough/flexible enough to do the trick, while still being firm enough to give good protection. Would definitely recommend to fellow grinders - cannot imagine finding anything else this good at this price point!

I had high hopes for this product but wow did it fail them in exceptional manner. First and most importantly: I had an allergic reaction to it the first night I tried them. I tried again the next night just to make sure the reaction was from this product and not something else. Still happened. If you try this yourself you will likely notice the strong chemical taste it leaves in your mouth - whatever that is - is likely what set me off. If you are someone who has food or chemical allergies please be careful with this!! Even not I would still be wary of what is in this. My next issue: despite my rereading and following the instructions precisely I could not get the product to fully mold to my teeth. And I tried 3 times. I do have a rather small mouth which could be part of the issue but the materials themselves were definitely not as moldable as described- at least not when doing it by their instructions. Lastly: they tell you if the guard is too large for your mouth to cut off one end. Well I tried that too. This method leaves sharp edges that Jan at your inner cheeks. I tried to cut on a curve but it didn’t help much. I tried to soften it when molding - but again - not very moldable. Returning and would recommend this product to no one.

I purchased this to prevent grinding at night. Rather than buy something expensive from a dentist I wanted to try this first. My worry was that this would be too bulky or uncomfortable, but I've been very happy with the fit. Once molded, it's actually quite small and feels more like a thick skin over my teeth. I've used this for about 2 weeks now and so far and I haven't experienced any sore spots that one might get from a mouthpiece. The instructions for molding it worked well and one just has to be careful to not bite too hard while molding it - otherwise you could bite through it as some reviews indicate.

Uncomfortable if you have a small mouth. Does go through the re-fitting procedure very well
